    Hi Girls

It's getting harder to stay focused on fabbing and weightloss with the evenings drawing in quicker and the days growing colder, and it becomes MUCH easier to convince ourselves to put off doing things till tomorrow, so we all need to help each other sustain our momentum....and this is what this wonderful thread does, so keep on keeping on!!!!

    Sparkles, you wrote:-

"Thought I'd have lost a bit more as my clothes feel much looser this week "

Don't be discouraged...remember that muscle weighs more than fat, so although the scales may not show much poundage loss, the loose clothing shows "fat" loss, which is FAR more important....so WELL DONE!!! :T

Callisto and PP...wishing you both continued successes on your assignments and OU courses....I did one about six years ago,( Life Sciences) and it just overtook my life!!! But I did pass....as long as you're enjoying it you'll reap the benefits of all you put in!!!

    Have a GREAT day, girls.

callisto - don't worry about being offered anti depressants. unfortunately my dr won't give me any but tbh just the going and explaining how i felt together with the offer of counselling has made me feel better, (even though i'm still waiting to hear from the counsellor about when my sessions will start properly- the1st was just an assesment). feel free to pm me if you want to talk :) hope you feel brighter soon.

agree with you skymist my fabbing has gone to pot- i'm still walking, zumbaing but not much else-haven't weighed myself for ages so not sure if its had any effect. am badly in need of eyebrow threading, nails but what with assignments, decluttering etc just don't seem to find the time.
to all those who've lost weight-well done!

i'm thinking about having a go at starting a dog/small animal feeding walking business. I love walking my dog and an aquaintance has asked me to walk hers a couple of times aweek - not sure if its viable yet am going to look into it and see whats what.

    see ou all soon.

    Hello Ladies!

Hope everyone is doing well- and to those of you working hard on assignments good luck!

well I didn't quite manage my homework LL:o but I did do an interval training session on the bkie so not a complete fail I hope:D

the raspberry nails are still going strong and have had a few compliments on them- it's funny because pink is really not a colour I go for usually- but I quite like this particular shade - maybe because it's so bright and vibrant- I even took the time to apply another topcoat to make sure they last a bit longer, think I might actually be getting the hang of wearing nail varnish, in the past I would always end up chipping it within a day and then taking the lot off!

Interesting talk about the colours, I spent most of my teens in dark colours and even initially when I was at uni wore a lot of black- what I find now is although I still like black trousers /tops I feel much better when I have a bit of colour with it- i started by using scarves using the colour near your face will help you to see easily whether it suits you or not and is a fairly "safe" way to try different colours I think, until you feel confident in which colours are "your" ones.

Now I'm always in bright colours and people always compliment them, i notice that when I wear all black or even more muted colours my complexion tends to look a bit washed out etc too plus I really do think it gives me a little lift to feel good in what I'm wearing and colours do that for me:D

I've decided not to weigh myself for the rest of this month- I did it yesterday and desipte the exercising and good eating I'd PUT ON:mad:...also despite the weight lost so far (around 1 3/4 stones) and knowing I look better and feel better according to BMI I am still obese!:mad::mad:....

so after a little bit of grumping I decided instead to have a look at my body fat measurement- now I know these are not deadly accurate, but after a chat with the trainer who works from our gym at work, they are a good guide - they won't be spot on but won't be wildly inacurate either- he said the main thing was to pick one way of measureing and stick to it so you can see the difference and see what you are working towards, which I think is a very sensible way to do things.

So had a look around and found this which I found really helpful:

    http://wwhttp://www.bmi-calculator.net/body-fat-calculator/w.bmi-calculator.net/body-fat-calculator/

Now according to this I am actually in the middle of the "acceptable" category for body fat percentage:p:D which is nicer :rotfl:

I've decided I will use this as guide going forwards as really that for me is what this is about- being healthy...well that and looking smoking hot!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

So rather than work on a BMI which would mean I'd need to lose another 3 and half stone to be in the healthy range:eek: ( which consequently according to the body fat calc would leave me in the dangerous cat for body fat!!!) I will work on reducing my measurements and consequently my body fat!:p

I will weigh myself once a month, but just so I can track my body fat %

I think I was getting too hung up on some numbers that don't account for muscle or bone structure and therefore can't be all that accurate anyway- what matters is I am happy and healthy- and I'm getting there, one of our secreary's if off to peru tomorrow and we've been ooo-ing and ahhing over pics - she is going on a tour up to Macchu Picchu- something I would absolutely LOVE to do...wouldn't it be amazing if I could get fit enough to actually climb it???

ok waffle of the day done- sorry for no individual greetings today no excuse I'm just being lazy:o will do better!

am off down to Lewes for the fireworks tomorrow so probs wont post til sun/mon when we get so I will wish you all a great weekend now!

    Keep Sparkling ladies!

I dragged myself out for a run after work to get some exercise in. Was hard work for 30mins and shorter than usual but very glad I went as I need to get back into the exercise routine now the clocks have changed

Tomorrow will be a walk day - walk into town and back then take Mr Dog on a long early afternoon walk before the fireworks start

    Hey Everyone!

Well DS1 is at his dad's and DS2 is tucked up in bed so I'm going to have a 'fab night' tonight! Going for 40 mins on my new step thingy, then going to get the beauty bags out and have a bit of a pamper while catching up with the soaps and Big Brother. :)

Callisto - Great news about your shock diagnosis! It may not sound great, but you now know why you've been feeling like you have, and have the support to help you get past it. :) I know that when I was diagnosed (PND) and went on anti depressants it was like the beginning of a new chapter in my life, like a fresh start. I hope the same is true for you :).
My studies aren't going well at the mo. My assignment is due on the 9th and I've only just started it. I can do it by then, but would have preferred to have a bit more time on it as I really want to do my best rather than just muddle through it (as I did on my last course :o). On a more positive note, I am enjoying it more (and finding it easier!) now I'm back doing Psychology, which is great - now I just need to find the time to do it!

Sparkles - Well done on the lost inches! :j

PP - Hope you have perked up a bit now, and are having a fun night! :)

Pink Poppy - Well done on keeping up with your regime! :j

Skymist - I definitely agree about it being harder to stay focussed in winter! I hate that it's dark so early now, I just want to curl up in my PJs by 6pm as it feels like 'night time', lol! This thread, and the thought of pretty party dresses next month is what's keeping me going! :D

Lizzie - The business idea sounds fab! I hope it works out :)

    Good evening ladies

Feeling absolutely shattered tonight - so will make it a quick one so sorry if I don't address you all personally.

Just wanted to say Callisto - hope you feel better soon. Hopefully once the antidepressants start to work you'll feel brighter and see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Wishing all you "students" well with your assignments - your courses all sound very interesting.

Lizzie I agree your business idea sounds great - especially as it is something you love doing anyway.:)

Pink Poppy - any basic cheapo aspirin will do.

Fabwise - Well - I've done my sit ups but unfortunately didn't manage a walk today. Did give the house a good blitz - so will count that as exercise.:D

Did an eyebrow tidy and am just off to give myself a manicure. Then an earlyish night I think.

Have a good weekend - plenty of fabbing;)

    G'night all x

Bit of an odd question but does anyone else have trouble with bra underwires...? Mine seem to come up and prod me under my arms for some reason, maybe I'm just short xD

I've been catching up through the day at odd times but not had time to post until now.

willow, that can be a problem with underwired bras. Like anything (shoes, trousers etc), although it might be the right size but it's often difficult to get the fit just right. The trouble is to get the right fit can just mean trying loads on in different shops or paying a bit more for somewhere that does fittings. M&S is about the cheapest that does fittings, also John Lewis. I use a small independent shop but it's not cheap which is probably why (like you) I haven't bought a new bra for ages:rotfl:

As promised, I experimented with my make up today ready for my trip to Asda:D I remembered buying this
    images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSNKowHm6lgaC31MfF0XAFm2BMjkGHneMtQa3QlGMgU_gNeC9Lk
at the end of last season but then the weather changed and I didn't use it. I was a bit heavy handed but all in all I was quite pleased. It certainly didn't settle into my 'lines' but I thought it was a bit shiney. At least it's a start to getting some colour back.

Poppy, I bought aspirin the other day to try LL's face mask. I saw those coated ones (designed for anyone who avoids aspirin because of sensitive stomach lining) but I'd say you'd be paying more for something you don't need. I got my plain aspirins in Asda for about 20p a packet.

callisto, I wouldn't worry about being offered anti-d's. My doctor gave me amitryptylene the other week to help dull the nerve pain in my bad back. He said it was also used as an anti-d. I was positively floating with it and I slept better than I had in years. I know some people have issues about trying to avoid medication whenever possible (and I respect their views) but I'm not one of them. I'd take any help that's on offer and get a good night's sleep!

Well done:T to those of you managing to get some exercise in. I'm a bit worried about trying sit-ups after my back problems recently (plus I'm a lazy s*d when it comes to exercise) but I must get out for more fresh air and walking.

I must say a big thank you to bratz for offering me some black trousers to tide me over. However, I'm delighted to say I'm now a slim size 12 so they'd be too big but thank you so much for thinking of me. This is a lovely thread, with the most friendly people:A

I've tried Tesco and Asda (agree the basics looked yuk! podperson) so next I'll do Matalan and if not try Sainsbury's which (near me) is next to M&S. Maybe black, work trousers are going out of fashion?

    'night all.

    Hello everyone,

Well done to all of your weight/inch losses :j keep up the good work.
((hugs)) to all that need them.

A gentle kick up the b*m (big one for moi) for anyone that needs it ;)

((Callisto)) ditto to all that has been said already, I hope you will start to feel better soon.

7 weeks LL, gosh where has the time gone? I'm pleased that this thread will be continuing! I really must start doing sit ups I need to get my midriff smaller.

I am trying to keep up with my fabbing. My weight loss is up and down still, within 2/3lbs. This happened before, when my Dr asked me to lose 3kgs in a month I found it very difficult, now I feel I need to lose some more weight before my op at the end of the month, I seem to have gone to pot  Yet, I managed to lose two and a half stone without too much difficulty since joining this thread, bizzare!
Didn't realise bagels contained soo many calories:eek:
Rant over, onwards and upards :rotfl::rotfl:

My sleep pattern is all askew again so feeling weary most of the time, hey ho at least the mornings are getting lighter earlier:)
Going to clear up some more leaves later, never ending at this time of the year :( At least the weather is still warm.

Hello to Mrs W, Pod,Maman,Bratz,Tru,Bitsy Lolly,Molly,Lizzie,Sparkles,Sky,Floss,Willow,Sophistica, and uncle tom cobbly and all :rotfl::rotfl:
Sorry if I have missed anyone xx
    Welcome to the new ladies.

Have a good weekend everyone, happy fabbing.
