Ma-am step away from the chocs please. Put down the chocs and step away now please Ma-am.
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Made me splutter my tea over the laptop. Luckily most of it has gone (into my tummy) so back on the straight and narrow today xxx
Have a happy a fabby day one and all xxxxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
...Thanks for the heads-up on the opaques callisto. I'm going to buy a fine pair so they don't look too heavy or woolly. I'm a bit tickled that I'm going to a posh wedding in a Tesco dress and a Primark coat but the outfit really does look far more expensive than that and I'll feel comfortable and confident....
Tesco do some nice "Finest" ones that are about 120 denier with a bit of a sheen to them. Has your dress got a belt, because I think I've bought it in maroon! It's SO comfy and looks to be more expensive than the real price0 -
Good Morning Ladies and Lurkers!
well, I am feeling good today as I have managed my first night's unbroken sleep in so long I can't remember the last time it happened!
Amazing what a difference it makes:D
Also had my E.L.F. delivery, got 2 new nail varnishes- punk purple- although it looks more pinky sort of a raspberry colour and metal madness- a sort of gun mental/dark silvery colour and I also got the eyelid primer- so will be trying that out tomorrow to see what difference it makes to eyeshadow- really hoping it helps it to last the day!
Sparkles :Ton the compliments and the grey dress at this rate I'm sure you will be looking amazing in it by the time to Do comes around! Sounds like you are keeping on at it and seeing results- it's a lovely feeling!
Calisto- I think you are right about the shows, they do give me that push- I sort of watch and think well I can do that if they can! also find it really inspiring to see people make such a huge difference to their lives...also have to echo floss re the proper walking shoes- getting the exercise is great but you really don't want to end up hurting yourself...just a gentle nudge:D also think you've been really strong admitting that you really wont be happy to be a bridesmaid, I can imagine it's so hard to do, but at the end of the day I'm sure she would rather you were happy and enjoyed the day with her!
Floss- nice shoes! and lol at the row of satsumas! your girls day sounds like fun-one thing I have yet to try is a spa treat...maybe next year sounds like you picked up a decent haul too:D
Bitsy- bit late sorry but sending get well vibes for Mr BB - I know what you mean about the Trick or Treaters never know whether to get anything in or not- glad I did this year- we ended up with quite a lot of them- cutest was the 3yr old vampire- he jumped out when I opened the door and I pretended to jump in fright:D glad not too many older kids though, don't always agree with the ones who are mid teens...maybe I'm getting old:D
DeeDee- I have the same issue when I get in, I've been trying to eat something around half 3-4ish so I'm not ravenous when I get home, bit hit and miss as it just depends on how busy I am- but the days when I manage to munch on carrots and hummous I do better resisting the biscuits! Mind you you are doing really well so far so I wouldn't beat myself up over a couple of biccies- we are allowed to have some treats you know:D
Maman- I love those shoes but honestly don't think I could walk in themthey are the sort of thing I pick up and sigh and put back knowing they would just sit in the cuppboard! I think it's fab that you will be wearing a F&F dress and primark coat the the wedding! If you look and feel great then that's all that matters- I bet you end up getting loads of compliments!
Pink Poppy, Molly and everyone else Hello! hope you are having a good day!!
right I am going to go and get a cup of tea and get started! be back later
MrsWoolfeIf you're afraid of the big bad Woolfe....beware of the Mrs!:rotfl:

Thanks floss. Yes, my dress does have a belt. It's this
and it seems to have disappeared from the website. I agree about it looking expensive as it's fully lined and the seams are all top-stitched. And for £22!!
I've got a few hours to myself today so will have a shower, hairwash and a bit of a pamper in a little while.
I've never been to a spa day either MrsW. I've had some treatments at a beautician (facials, massages, manicure, pedicure) so I know I'd like it. I think it's because you really need a group of like-minded friends to do that and for many of mine it wouldn't be their thing. I have one friend who goes with her DH when hotels are offering cheap packages and they swim and have massages but my DH wouldn't be keen. Perhaps we should have a thread outing!:rotfl:0 -

What a fantastic idea - let's make it something to aim for next year - I would love to meet you all in RL because I feel I know you all already and that I've got a load of new friends.
Your wedding outfit sounds wonderful. I was reading recently how mature ladies should "do" colour - purple was one of their suggestions.
It doesn't matter whether it's Tesco, Primarni or whoever - a fab outfit is a fab outfit.
Today I went into our Westfield centre ostensibly to the mobility shop for a couple of bits for OH. Also went to Holland & Barrett - they've got some good deals on at the moment - 1p for the second item. I've stocked up on some sage tablets and some isoflavone tablets (soy). I'm really struggling with hot flushes and night sweats and I don't really want to go back on HRT - well I do but my GP says it's time to stop now. The night sweats keep waking me up, I can't get back to sleep properly and I'm feeling pretty shattered.
So whilst not as exciting as buying new make up or clothes etc I still regard vitamins and supplements as part of my new Fab routine. After all, you can't look your best when you feel half dead because your hormones are all over the place:(
I'm also trying to introduce more soya into my diet, I quite like soya milk so I try and drink some each day, milkshakes, smoothies. It's nice for porridge too. I've managed to grow a sage plant and have started making sage tea - it's quite pleasant.
Had a quick look round some dress shops, nothing took my fancy. I noticed a coat in Debenhams similar to my £3 CS bargain that I bought the other day. It wasn't as nice as mine because it had very cheap looking buttons which spoilt the look. It was £159, so my £3 coat plus £10 for dry cleaning was an absolute steal.:D Long live Chazza shops.:rotfl:
By the way bought some Total Effects Olay. It was on offer at Sainsburys - £9-95. It seems ok - no irritation at the moment.
I've taken note of all your suggestions though and will give them a whirl.
Anyay OH is having his nap now so I think I might just go and have a bit of a rest myself. Then - I really need to do a spot of cleaning ....
Bye for now x0 -
Hello to everyone
Woke up this morning with a headache & bloodshot eyes ~ so much for my new fabness regime!! :rotfl: Feel better now though ~ have had plenty of water (cue numerous trips to the loo), vitamins taken & healthy food consumed.
Those shoes are gorgeous floss & maman ~ I would love to wear something like that but I'd worry about breaking those thin heels the weight I am at the moment!!Something to aim for though.
LL, thanks so much for your redness advice, you really are a starI'll try the aspirin face mask & just do around my nose/cheeks where the thread veins seem to be congregating!! Maybe on my chin as well. I love being outdoors but am not an outdoorsy person so can't blame the elements unfortunately. My Mum had a few so maybe mine are hereditary?? Hadn't thought about going to Drs so will give that some consideration & will try these redness creams for the time being.
Better go, my DD2 is back from School. Bye for now'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -

I think that Tesco have sent all those dresses to my local store as we have them in black, maroon, purple and caramel!
Girly spa breaks are fab, I couldn't take DH as he doesn't do the same level of celeb gossip and b1tching that my mates do, and he can't drink as much pinot grigio as us either!I have done days and breakr with my best mate and also with a group, both are really good fun.
Count me in for a thread day/break!0 -
p.s. I'm sorry for being so bossy about walking shoes last night, its a bit of a 'thing' with me, and I don't like to see others make the same mistakes I've made in the past that I'm paying for now with my knees (not that I can go very far without them!
)
Sorry! xx0 -

Hi All, I am back from my holiday in Assisi. Fantastic food, Mitchelin starred chef and lovely surroundings but in the deepest countryside. My Italian friends who love beaches and shopping, took one look, developed allergic reactions and fevers and fled. But it was very relaxing and I had a nice time looking round Perugia and Assisi.
LL you must go back on HRT - I am going to stay on it until I am at least 85! I came off for a week about a year ago and I have never felt so wretched. I use the Evorel Sequi patches and I just change them when I remember so I reckon I am having about a half a dose and I feel fine.
I haven't even been out today but I have sorted hte house out, done some cooking and tomorrow I am back to fabbing...probably it will involve dying the roots in the run up to the hair dresser's visit and doing my nails.0 -
Painted my nails again...
I painted them pale blue on Sunday and they started chipping thanks to the hundreds of cardboard boxes I have to open for work...So I used 17 Lasting Fix nail varnish in Parma Violet. I'm not sure if it suits me though...
