Done no fabbing, no exercise other than very late the other night, have managed to put on a few lbs and it's been half term so no time for me during the day. Not feeling great in myself and to top it all off H was knocked off his motorbike this morning. Only grazes and lots of bruising thankfully, he's very lucky but its just not a nice experience when I get his phone call saying "don't worry BUT......." I am not a flapper in these circumstances but it does mean not much happening this weekend, no swimming with kids, will be running round after H as he will feel decidedly worse tomorrow and Sunday. And we have the police coming to take a statement tomorrow morning as he's had to report the accident.

Still as Scarlett says tomorrow is another day.

Bitsy I do hope you weren't thinking that I'd suggest that you would haggle or worse - no it's just to tell you all what can happen at times. Sometimes I can't believe what goes on. Helping out at Scope has been a real eye-opener, some of the scams and tricks people play beggars belief. I'd never really worked in retail before and I'm a trusting soul at the best of times.

Anyway - I'm so sorry if what I wrote came out all wrong.

Your poor H - that must have been a terrible shock. I'm glad he wasn't badly hurt - however, as you say he'll probably feel a bit worse for wear tomorrow once the adrenaline surge has subsided. Lots of TLC and a restful weekend is what's required.

    All the best hun. x

Hugs to you Bitsy x I hope hubby recovers quickly so that it is not too much of a strain on you. School holidays are always stressful. Even though my two youngest are in 6th Form, I still know when they are home:eek::eek::eek:

Im a recent convert to Charity Shops through my very good online and real life friend Mooloo. She was a charity shop manager before she was poorly so Im sure would totally agree with you Lesson Learned x

Im beginning to think about make-up now. I have never worn any really but do get my eyelashes tinted and eyebrows shaped. However I often have a very pale outlook on life (due to pain) so think I could do with something. Any helpful suggestions would be very much appreciated because TBH I really dont know where to start:eek::eek::eek:

Molly personally I am big fan of mineral make up. Its in powder form so you can apply as much or as little as you need. It's easier to avoid that line round your jaw that you can get from liquid foundations. They come in a variety of shades and you can get blushers etc too. I find them more economical too than liquid ones as I dont use as much. I recommend Lili Lolo ands Elemental Beauty, both are excellent.
I would find a shade similar to your own, don't want you suddenly looking like you have an orange perma tan LOL and build up from there, add a hint of blusher to your cheeks and maybe a neutral lipstick. I know some of the make up counters in Boots etc sometimes do make up for customers but given how some of those ladies look I am a bit wary :o

i too am a fan of mineral make up as it gives a lovely natural look and you can build it up if you want a smokier look.

my fave is bare minerals and I have a ton in my make up bag. It lasts me for ages too. I've been having a little break from this while I used up my lovely tinted moisturiser from Cl*n*que.

Also had a fabby trip into town and restocked some beauty items. Decided had to get the redness moisturiser again as my red blotchiness has returned without it. So I caved in to it and decided it was worth it as it worked so well when I used it before. Also got the bonus time gift set and a holiday size redness gift set as free gits to ease the pain of the price a little

Also stocked up on some haircare of offer too - shampoo and conditioners without the ingredients I'm allergic too and some styling items as I'm about to run out. Also body lotion in M+S on buy one get one half price.

Quite an expensive morning but at least I won't need anything else for a while and while out I did see a couple of books on offer to get for Christmas presents and also got a £5 voucher to use to buy them with

Oooooh Willow, what's the brand and colour of the nail varnish on the left? I used to have one by Maybelline that looks the same (though I realise that depending on the colour settings on my computer screen, it might look completely different in real life) but it was discontinued. I'd love to find that colour again :D

It's a Barry M nail varnish in Mint Green :)

The girl at the Body shop suggested I try their Vit E range - supposed to be ideal for super sensitive skin. They're what I would term mid range - round about £10 to £12.

It's worth asking for a free mini sample to 'try before you buy' ;) ~ I was given 2 free samples (without me asking) when I popped in to see if they had anything to soothe my DD2's eczema.
Decided had to get the redness moisturiser again as my red blotchiness has returned without it. So I caved in to it and decided it was worth it as it worked so well when I used it before.

Can I ask what this redness moisturiser is, please?? I'm fed up of looking all blotchy ~ I was out last night & my face was like a belisha beacon :( Think it was a combination of warmish pub & a glass of wine, but no one else was red, just me!!

Anyway, hello everyone :hello: I've been lurking for a while & love reading how everyone is doing, all the fabdom hints & tips etc. Would love to join in if you'll have me & it's not too late?! :o

Bit about me ~ I'm 46 but feeling & looking older :( I'm too heavy, have given up on make-up (see above about being red & blotchy), my hair is a complete mess etc etc!! Just feel like I've 'gone to seed' :o I must do something about it before it's too late!!

Welcome pink poppy :) never too late to join in. When does your redness kick off? Any time or do you need the right environment? When you say blotchy do you mean the skin is in not good shape or is it that your face is red in blotches? I get the latter when I get hot when exercising, not a good look for me as my eye sockets go white and various parts look scarlet!!
