That's a great result willow, I'm so pleased for you. Is that just from trying to eat more healthily and cutting out junk? Next week, you'll need to plan for your work experience. Its so easy to just buy rubbish when you're out. I find that one of the biggest things to sabotaging healthy eating. All the meal deals have bread or crisps or fizzy drinks or all three! Even in places like M&S the salads are full of mayo or dressing. Try to take healthy sandwiches or fruit (unless you live near tru, where you won't be able to buy any:rotfl:) Which day is your actual birthday? When are you going out in your dress?
Although you all know I've been working hard on losing weight lately, what I'm most pleased about is turning around our eating habits. I say 'our' as my DH has been doing much the same. I think it's the cooking from scratch and at least a third of everything I eat being fruit and veg that's been a big bonus. That and cutting down alcoholic drinks. I think it was sparkles who said that focusing on eating good stuff will leave you less hungry and likely to graze on rubbish. Sorry, that ramble was meant to be for bratz and bitsy. If you're reasonably happy with your weight/size then just focus on healthy eating and a bit of exercise.
I'm thinking about a 'stitch and !!!!!' class too bratz. I looked one up locally a few months ago and thought it's something I might do in the winter. I had thought mainly for knitting but I want to do a bit of embroidery too but I think they welcome all comers.
Had a bit of a walk yesterday evening. That's something we do deliberately by parking a mile or more away from the football ground (did I mention my team are 5 points clear at the top of the league?:j). I was wearing my 'walking' boots which are laced with a small heel and I realised just how much better they are for posture than slopping along in ballet pumps of flip-flops. I could feel a real spring in my step. I must force myself to take a short walk today (before the promised rain comes).
I'm almost embarassed to say this but I'm away for a few days next week. We're taking DD2, DGD2 and a little friend to Normandy. We've done this trip loads of times before but never with this DGD. So I'll be in tour guide mode for Bayeux, Normandy beaches, Honfleur. It'll be lots of walking and try to avoid the croissants!
Back later....0 -

Sorry no idea why I a rambling but I am getting a bit fed up of going round in circles on this one and I need to step back from it.
Bitsy Don't worry it doesn't come over as rambling.
I think sometimes stepping back and "resting" is probably a good idea. Sometimes we need to just take some time out.
Just concentrate on good healthy eating, some exercise and plenty of feel good Fabbing. Do some stuff you enjoy, concentrate on what makes you happy.
Although I've answered Bitsy on this I think the same message applies to all of us.
You may not agree with my views on this - but here's what I really do believe.
We shouldn't worry too much about actual weight loss as such. In the grand scheme of things, as long as we are not clinically obese or risking our health by being dangerously overweight then is it such a big deal. Is it really worth torturing ourselves over and worth making ourselves miserable.
I believe that a beautiful body is one that is healthy and fit for purpose - it doesn't have to be a "Perfect 10".
If we have the right number of legs, arms etc, if we can move, walk, talk, see (ok so we might need a little help) hear, think and feel, if we can eat, chew and swallow normally then we already have perfect bodies.
Yes we have our aches and pains. Sometimes some of us need medical treatments and surgical interventions to put things right. Some of us may need to take medication for life and most of us are at the mercy of our hormones (Poor Tru -sorry you are suffering today - big hugs.
However, I believe we should try to enjoy our bodies and should celebrate them for what they are - a truly miraculous piece of engineering.
Yes of course we should all try to lose any excess weight if we either need or want to but - we shouldn't spend our lives feeling guilty because we've "failed" to lose weight this week.
We should take care of our bodies and nuture our spirits - life is precious and too short to fret overly much about how slim/fat we are.
Healthy and happy is what counts.0 -

Real French croissants eaten in France don't count - they're calorie free.:rotfl:
Don't be embarrassed - have a fab time.
Agree with the "sensible" shoes - hate to say it but they do actually make life easier.
In my book - there are shoes and there are "taxi" shoes.:rotfl:0 -
Anyway - just a quickie, now.
Attended meeting with SS and mum and dad, they flatly refused to have any carers in - just as I expected. Ah well, you can take a horse to water ...............
OH still a bit off it - so just a quietish day here at Fab Towers. Looking forward to physio tomorrow - back feeling stiff and sore.
Very cold here now - wore my old favourite full length suede coat today and was complimented. It must be about 8 years old - a little shabby now but I like suede and leather when they are "lived in".
Joy of joys - it now fits me properly - I can actually fasten the buttons again:rotfl:
I too have a bowl of fruit which tastes horrible, the bananas taste "pappy" and the apples are dry and floury. The bananas can be used in cakes and milkshakes (and face masks) - I might just stew the apples.
I've practically given up with pears - they are hardly ever as nice as they look.
Anyway must get cracking with the dinner.
Bye for now x
Carmen - I haven't heard about red hats - is it very rude or can you enlighten me. Or are you not allowed on a public forum.:eek:0 -

Well another fabby day in some aspects
1. 2 more compliments received happily about weight loss and looking slim. Nice one!
2. Dragged myself out for a run after nearly talking myself out of it this afternoon at work.
Pleased I went as the sun was setting while I was out and the sky changed from bright blue to pale grey and pink. Trying to take advantage of the lighter evenings before the clocks change and I'm back to running in the dark again
Only not so good thing was feeling very tired and a bit run down this afternoon. Feel better for lots of fresh air after runningfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Thanks.
In Derbyshire we say "Fur coat, no knickers".
Just thought I'd share this with you - a bit saucy so hope it doesn't offend anyone.
Just finished watching Kirsty's Homemade Britain Channel 4.
There was a section where she visited a (male) beekeeper. He explained that the bees in the hive were from a new swarm. She asked him where he got it from and he said "A Lady's Bush".:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I nearly choked on my coffee - thought it was just me being filthy minded and then I noticed that Kirsty, whose face was covered by a beekeepers veil, was sniggering and giggling away. The guy meanwhile wasn't even aware of what he had said.
That little scene alone was worth a years TV licence money.:D0 -

Bitsy - don't bite those nails love - paint them in your fave colour instead and adore them and your hard work, woop woop
Well I have been going to bed earlier and earlier, eating breakfast and starting to eat fruit at mid morning and my energy levels are definitely up through the day and in the evening - yay
Have really enjoyed catching up with Vampire Diaries tonight, (sky plus'd from last night - didn't watch it then because it would be later than the time I intended to go to bed so saved it for tonight and enjoyed it even more). Now going up to clean teeth, treat myself to a lover-ly facial and have a nice read in bed before sleep
Will catch up again soon
Nos da all, sweet dreams
