A good cat deterrent

Where did I say anything should be your responsibility???? Supervising a cat doesn't stop it running off up a tree or down the road.
Where did I say supervise? I do not expect cat owners to supervise the bloody things, all I expect is that owners of any pet does not let that pet bother other people, let alone cause damage to other people property.
Anyone who allows their pets to roam is an irresponsible pet owner and should not have them.
Does not seem unreasonable to me.0 -
A little extreme perhaps but I understand where you are coming from, you don't have to kill them though.
You just need to trap them and then take them to the RSCA as a stray, after all it has strayed into your garden0 -
It's very odd to want to kill the cats, which are only acting as animals do. It happens to be in an unnatural urban environment, where people create their own rules, that don't exist in the wild.
If you do feel justified in killing, surely it would be the person introducing the cats that should be killed? After all, by killing a couple of cats, you're not actually solving the problem. The cat person can just introduce more cats.0 -

Now that's a good idea!
Of course I wouldnt kill them, but that doesn't mean I don't want to sometimes, especially when expensive boots are ruined because of cat mess :mad:Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. The PestBye £16.95 ultrasonic cat scarer from Amazon is working wonders for us. Haven't seen the neighbourhood cats in the garden since we got it, and no poo either!
Just to point out that, as a cat owner myself (who does not like poo of any variety in my garden), there are plenty of things a responsible cat owner can do to minimise annoyance to neighbours. A covered outdoor litter tray that is cleaned daily; keeping a designated patch of soil in your own garden well dug over; securing your garden; and so on. None are perfect, but most people don't even bother to try, or don't want the inconvenience/ expense.
Our cat is a predominantly indoor cat, but even if we allowed him to roam, I'd make every effort to encourage him to poo on our property rather than our neighbours. I think a lot of cat owners are blissfully ignorant of the nasty lengths people can be driven to by "poo rage" and what might be in store for their pet (as this thread highlights) - cats=expendable vermin in many peoples' eyes and are treated accordingly...0 -
I've had trouble with a neighbour braying on my door like some nutter screaming about my cat poohing in his garden. I offered to clean it up. I told him to throw a stone at it, I told him to get a water pistol.
Short of hog tying the cat up anytime someone opens a door or a window and it runs out, what am I supposed to do? Suppose I could tell it off and make it promise to behave?0 -
Cats are evil, and definitely foul my garden to attempt to dominate the area. If their owners were more responsible and had a little common decency, they wouldn't allow their beloved moggy to spread disgusting muck in my garden.
Feel free to call me disgusting and vile when I come and !!!!!! in your garden, to mark territory which I want[/QUOTE]
LOL! Of course they are, Tina20. They have this secret agenda to come and poo in your garden just to annoy you. I can see all the cats in your neighbourhood having these clandestine meetings, discussing which garden is going to be their next target. Stop this feline terrorism now!0 -

...... and if an owner cannot do that they shouldn't have pets.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
I am sure the cat haters have their children under supervision every waking moment other than when they are at school until they reach adulthood at 18, and firmly believe that 'children should be seen and not heard'. No screeching when they don't get their own way, no playing outdoors, walk around the supermarket holding onto the trolley, sit quietly on public transport, no underage drinking in the park, no graffiti, no p1ssing or puking in my street on the way home from a night out, no buzzing my apartment in the middle of the night just for the lulz, no teenage pregnancies.
Great stuff. :rotfl:Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
