  • Have you got a library near you? Ours charge 15p for a black & white A4 sheet.

If you did one at home with 4 flyers on a page & then copied at the library that'd be £3.75 for a hundred - not sure how that'd compare to printing 25 pages on your own printer at home.

Would your workplace let you copy them (obviously for a small charge)?
    Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
    2016 Sell: £125/£250
    £1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000
    Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000

Our Library doesn't have a copier!! Odd I know. Fancy modern one too. I don't have a workplace as i'm not fit to work. Looking at the cost of our printer cartridges it'll be cheaper to get it done professionally. I'll need 500 or so. I'll just have to shop around for cheapest printers. He is now registered and/or going to be posted on every cpl website for this area. Wide area! Fingers crossed.

  • Might be worth having a hunt around online - had a quick look and came across this:

    http://www.rthprinting.co.uk/a6-flyers--leaflets-gloss-or-silk-179-p.asp

Came up @ £18.50 for 500 (single sided A6 - which would be 4 on an A4 page) with free delivery - have a hunt around you may find something better or decide on another size but watch the postage charges on some of them!

Rising from the ashes- Thank you so much!:A:A That's the cheapest i've seen so far!! I'd pay it no matter what the cost, but always better to save something. Have fb page up and running, had replies from almost all cpl branches, and got him registered on missing pet search pages. Next step is to call all the farms who I sent posters to. And keep everything crossed. Not giving up on my baby boy!

The farms sound like a great lead, there are loads of unspayed queens on farm land. :) If you are on a budget or limited by your health I wouldn't leaflet every house I'd ask to put a card or poster in corner shops, pubs, libraries, schools, church halls plus local newspapers and parish newsletters, targeting a much wider area than just your village. Bear in mind once he got lost there is more chance of continuing to roam in the wrong direction each day, than he is accidentally coming across one of the few landmarks he could see from your window. That will hit the possibility of him chasing a female for miles AND the possibility of him hitching a ride in a van or car. In villages people tend to know a little of their neighbours, especially if they have children, so if one has taken in your cat and another has seen the poster/ advert there is a good chance someone will contact you. Does your pet insurance cover missing pets and advertising?

"We know more about those lives now, because a two-year-long study used radio-transmitters to track cats at the southern edge of the cities of Champaign and Urbana in Illinois ... The entire kittie cohort included both housecats and feral cats, and ranged over almost 6,300 acres. One feral cat’s range topped out at 1,351 acres. New York’s Central Park covers 843 acres. Owned cats with homes roamed way less than their feral counterparts. But they still averaged a range of just under five acres."

"A tomcat can serve 40 queens (female cats) a year and he can smell and follow the scent of a female over 7 miles. This can happen at a very early age, before the owner has even noticed that he is mature, as young as 5 or 6 months old. In the course of such a honeymoon he can easily get lost; in the trance of his erotic pilgrimage he does not take note of his route and finds himself homeless when the romance is over."
    http://www.cat77.org.uk/articles/neuter.htm

"Average life span of un-neutered (intact) male cats (Tom Cats) in the city is 18 months - they tend to roam a radius of 20 miles and are therefore likely to be either hit by a car or die from Feline Leukemia/FIV. Neutering makes pets less likely to roam the neighborhood, run away, or get into fights."

If you've got a bit extra 500 x A5 is just under £25 so not a huge amount more and they'll be bigger so hopefully more people will take notice of them.

Fire Fox's suggestion about whether your insurance would help with advertising costs is a great one. Also, about how far he might have got so it may well be worthwhile targeting nearby villages/towns too.

If that's him in your avatar, he's an absolute gem!

Thanks all! My flyers were delivered yesterday. Not been online as I was babysitting for my sister. Last minute urgency.
Unfortunately I don't have insurance for him, The plan was to sort it all out after we moved house so there would be less redirecting mail etc, but we still haven't moved. So when/if I find him, first order of the day is neutering and chipping him, then sorting out the insurance!
It is him in my Avatar. Beautiful boy isn't he?! I have also consulted a psychic, may seem odd, or over the top to some, but like I said, i'll try anything.
We don't have any pubs etc here to poster, just one local shop. The next village along has more shops, i will be postering there too. Looks like i'm going to have a busy week!!

No luck so far. Have had a couple responses to flyers, spent all day tramping around an area he may have been seen in. No sign, will go back with more posters, it's beside a kids playpark so maybe some of them will have seen him.
