Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 22/06/11 This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all,
Looks like it might be a bright day here, I am off to work, so will ask dd to get some washing on the line, she can also hoover through and tidy.
Dinner tonight is omlette, salad and bread and butter, I was thinking lastnight we are having more veggie meals lately, meat is so exoensive now.
Rubbish and recycling are out, and I need to make up my lunch for work, and swish the kitchen.
Ok better get on, have good days all xx

Morning everyone
Sunny, bright and windy here this morning. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock. Various dinners eaten and enjoyed by us all last night. Work was not too horrendously busy yesterday so hoping for the same today. Only working until lunchtime today, then on day's off. Dinner tonight will be pasta with ham and cheese etc, will be making some bread to accompany. Will be attempting to be a flylady when I get home, have joined that thread too, and I have to admit it is helping lots, don't when my kitchen has looked this clean!! Hoping to get all rooms done, then keep on top of it all - well that's the plan anyway! DS1 brought a letter home from school for a trip to France next summer, it's an activity week, (have to say sounds excellent, and I want to go too!) so persuaded DH (in the best possible way of course!) to let him go, but he will be having it paid for and that will be his birthday and xmas prezzies and my parents will contribute too (as part of bday/xmas).
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

i'm working from 11.30 today but sure til when. one of the girls has a midwife appointment so til she gets back. could be til about 4ish. its tiring me out but in a good way.
ds got up about half an hour ago and has fallen back to sleep on the sofa  he was asleep by 7 last night! i think he must being having (another!!) growth spurt as he is constantly hungry at the minute. that was his problem yesterday at nursery. they thought he was under the weather because he wasnt very happy (he never creis at nursery!) but they realised he was saying he was hungry and gave him a snack and he was happy as larry again:rotfl:

Enjoy the Seaside Taplady. I must get Kids Dad to take me over the summer xx
Well feeling much brighter this morning but am not going to overdo things. However I have managed to organise the kitchen floor which was so doggy so that looks and smells much fresher. Going to potter and put some washing on and get rid of the snowzer marks on the windows and patio doors.
I have Mooloo coming to see me this afternoon so that will be lovely to catch up.
Right going to go and do another 15 mins. Have a good day my OS friends xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Morning all,
Hope all is well, haven't read the thread since yesterday morning. So glad my 3 nights are done. Just off to bed. Will get up about 12, don't really know what to do first as the whole house is a tip, I need to take a load of garden rubbish to the tip and the lawns need mowing.
Dinner will either be HM pizza or spag bol, will decide when I get up.
Big hugs to those who need one, have a good day all.

Morning everyone,
Thank you all so much for your kind wishes yesterday, it really helped me to get through the day.
Feeling quite a lot brighter today. Spoke to my immediate boss at work and he said that he would back me up with the big boss about going to my aunt's funeral which is really helpful.
DD2 got through her exam (although she said that parts of it went "a bit bodge") and she was fine about me not being there.
DD1 has a violin exam today but OH is taking her to that one so don't feel at all bad about not being there.
Molly glad that you are feeling a bit better.
Taplady enjoy the seaside.
Dazi happy anniversary.
Washing is out on the line even though it was raining when I pegged it out, OH thought I was a bit daft, and the sun is out now.
Tea tonight is pasta bake with the very last of Sunday's chicken.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -
Good morning everyone ,had a restless night worrying as my big brother Davy phoned me bless him at 11.45 p.m. He had decided to tell me that he had been diagnosed with melanomic cancer and he had started chemo,he hadn't said before as he didn't want me worrying .They have told him its not cureable, but will treat him as best they can He lives in France and is only just getting over his heart attack that he had in February which was followed by them inserting a stent.Poor guy it never rains but it pours .He is a tough chap though as he was the smallest of twins born during the battle of Britain during an airaid in the east end.The biggest twin didn't make it and Davy had been pulled out and moved to one side as he was so tiny the Dr didn't think he would survive. But survive he did by making a squeeking sound. He had all his blood changed as he was a 'blue baby' on top of everything else and at 1lb 13 ozs was the length of my Dads hand .he slept in a small box surrounded by thick blankets for almost 6 months .he's a real fighter and has never stopped haring around for the past 70 odd years .I have everything crossed for him as I know he won't give up on anything. It was quite a shock and I spent most of the night wondering how he will get on.I gave him a few tips on how to cope with the chemo as I had it nearly four years ago so knowing what to avoid foodwise does help.
Still I am a great believer in a positive mental attitude and he has that in spades bless him.So if any of you do have a thought for him in your prayers as i certainly can't do any harm. He is such a live wire and full of life and never sits still for a minute, and luckily has, like me, a wicked sense of humour.
The weather is a bit doubtful looking at the moment and the forecast is rain by lunchtime, hopefully I will be able watch Andy Murray and cheer him on. NSD today and its freezer roulette for dinner tonight.
Take care everyone and have a good day
