Bt Yahoo Only 479kilobits Should Be 1mb???

Hi I have bt yahoo broadband 1 meg. It is supposed to be getting up graded to 2meg within the next week. Meantime its running like trash.Ihave a router and xbox connected. But when i do tests i am told it is only between 370 -470 kilobits !. My xbox is working slow and my computer is the same when on the net. Have had this broadband for 2 years and the first time this happend. Cant get any sense out of bt because they are muppets :-)
