No they left feedback after the case was closed.

Its interesting you say that -- maybe they have changed procedure? Or theres a bug?

I think I will drop them a line or two about the 'feedback manipulation' :)

Wouldn't be surprised. Yet more dodgey buyers off the hook.

You did choose right option? (i want to end communication).

Just mention that closing a NPB case normally prevents buyer leaving feedback - and ask why it didn't on this occasion.

OP - Wouldn't it be better to have the box ticked for "immediate payment required if buyer uses buy it now"?

Customers sometimes choose an item and keep browsing for a couple of days before paying so it wouldn't really be ideal.

And I sell alot of personalised items and many of those customers opt to pay via card using our website when they upload their imagery -- which works out well as PayPal fees are steep.

I'd chose the feedback manipulation option.

Point out that the buyer retaliated because you used the NPB procedure and surely you should be allowed to use an EBAY procedure without fear of feedback manipulation from someone who could not even be bothered to pay.

I've never had a neg - but i've always assumed they could be removed if unfairly given. Ebay made a promise to that effect on BBC's watchdog.

I emailed customer support explaining what happened, mentioned the live chat conversation and referred to their feedback manipulation policy.

Got a reply yesterday and they removed it agreeing the feedback 'compromises the integrity of their feedback system'.

    :)

    Well done.

Nice to know that people can get results in spite of fleabay's legendary obstinacy.
