Ok, an action shot of the truffle mixture being whipped:

That needs two hours in the fridge so it's going in overnight, as I'll be in the pub by then.

What are the ingredients your whipping?

    Which receipe are you making?

Not too foggy to find the pub. ;)

And I've just realised I need a big deep baking tray for the TD. :(
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

Ooops..sorry Rikki - it's the white chocolate and cardamom truffles from the site suggested by rhubarbs.

  • Can't you just improvise and use a pan? I'm sure the TD won't care either way. Mind you, you may need more than one pan but it shouldn't be a problem.

Well, I've got a cruet pan that's quite big - that might work. It's round though, and TD is square. :p

It'll only be the edges that are round. You'll cut it straight in squares (hopefully). It will show this is home-made. Or you can eat any pieces that have a round edge! ;)

Don't forget to line it with something or you'll be picking it out for months!

Yeah, I'm a bit worried about this as the recipe, here, isn't very bloke-friendly. For example, it says "pour into the prepared baking tin" - prepared how, exactly?

This has the potential to go very, very wrong unless I get help! :o

Have you got any baking parchment? ( it's like a very non stick greaseproof paper for lining cake tins ) If you have some, I would cut it to the size of the tin or pan you are using and line the tin or pan with that. The turkish delight should come off that easily enough and won't stick to the tin.

Edited to add - I've just looked up on the internet and found another turkish delight recipe - it says to line the tin with cling film and then lightly oil the cling film ( I would use a plain sunflower oil, not olive oil or stuff with a strong flavour as it might give you odd tasting turkish delight ) - but that could work as a lining if no baking parchment available! )
  • Hmmm....I see what you mean. Have a look at Step one in this recipe:

Plastic wrap means cling film to you! ;)

That receipe looked a nightmare ToxicLemon! I think it would be best to stick to Frys turk delight in the sexy pinky purple wrapper :rotfl:
