Oh give over being so melodramatic! ;-) That actually looks like it might come out alright, a bit weird but alright! Go to the pub though and drown your sorrows :-)

    All right it ain't. :(

I may not know what I'm doing, but I put a lot of time and effort into following the recipe / instructions to the letter. I think I'm entitled to get the hump when it all goes wrong! I did exactly what I was told, and ended up with pink glue. :(
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.
  • Well, for future reference: never, ever add dry cornflour to ANYTHING. Always slake it first (that's posh speak for add a little water to cornflour) and then add to the majority liquid.

I think it can still be rescued, personally, but if you've binned it, it's too late! Well done for trying, anyway. :)

Mr BE what about marshmallows? They are yummy - just like flumps and very easy to make :)

    Recipe here

(it wants you to use corn syrup but you can use golden syrup instead).

Top kudos for trying Turkish Delight though - you need to try again - dont let the ingrediants beat you ;)
The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese
  • My tip is always check more than one of the same recipe and compare. You then get a feel for the common factors and can work out the best recipe and method.

You don't want this adding to the Receipe Index then?

Oh, it must be added! I can't have everyone thinking it's all wonderful!

Anyway, there will be some very successful rum truffles later. ;)

Mmmmmm! 6'3" you say? Nice! ;)
