Off to Greece next week, what to do for best money

Hi all, I'm new to this area, so please be kind!
We're off to Greece next weekend, and with all the problems with the Greek economy I'm struggling to decide what to do about holiday spends.
I would probably usually take £400 cash with me, is it best to get that in Euros now rather than take Serling? I'm wondering if the resort exchange values might be low at the moment?
The other £600 I would usually take as travelers cheques, so again wondering if getting the euro ones rather than sterling might help. At least I'd know what amount I'd be getting.
We have a Post Office credit card, which has a very good write up for using abroad, so will have that as back up. We have accounts with HSBC, Santander and Halifax, so could withdraw cash from any of these while away if anyone thinks it's best not to bother with travelers cheques at the moment.
Sorry for the long first post!
Any help appreciated.
Michele

I would take some cash and then use ATM's there. I wouldn't use travellers cheques. They are worse than the Natwest accounts that come off worse in the website pages. Inconvenient, old fashioned and with high charges.
(I think you are safe to take Euros to Greece next week!)0 -
I'll check the withdrawal charges on all our various accounts and see which one would be best to use abroad.
My OH thinks I'm flapping over nothing, and probably am, but just want to get best value for our spends!0 -
Travelex Cash Passport Globe for cash withdrawals and the Post Office CC for purchases will do you fine.
Don't change anything. I'll only tell you once.

Thanks Stilltheone, just looking at the Travelex passport thing.0

Use the link that I have provided. Don't be tempted to stray.

Just a quick question, if the 2 cards they offer why would the "passport globe" be better than the "passport currency"? Just wondering what the main difference is! Also, if I don't spend all I preload onto it, can I get my money back off it?0

don't worry! I've just been reading other threads about the two cards, so have it sussed now.
Thanks for the point in the right direction. Just got to order a new pin for the post office card today.0
