Its the blue one which i think someone said is an debit electron so i can't use it at petrol pumps trains or airlines ? is there any other limitations.
One query though am i able to book hotels with this card over the internet i think hotels like open ended cards so charges can be added throughout your stay . i'd be going with my partner so i wouldn't want to embrass myself by saying on arrival that my card isn't valid.
It is generally only places which cannot connect to a telephone line or get an internet connection to process the transaction which mostly are 1) Pay @ Pumps (But you can go inside the store to pay) 2) On Trains 3) On Airlines 4) Car Rental (Requires a Credit Card).
Hotels are generally fine , *some* though do a pre-auth for the full amount of the stay at checkin PLUS maybe £30/£50 or more extra incase you order further services from the hotel or damange any items - Always best to check with the hotel first before you arrive and ensure you have the funds ready. If you don't order any extras etc, then this extra reserved funds will become available to spend again within 3/10 working days once it drops off the account.
It is to note as a general rule of thumb, although you do have the blue full-auth card which should decline any transactions you don't have the cash for. The bank COULD still pay these items, leaving you with charges for these.David

thanks again cool. i'll be aware and ask when i book. as you seem to know everything so far on the various questions i've asked. i wonder if you or anyone could suggest advice about this. I went through moneysupermarket credit card option to see what cards were suitable. It says a soft check is done on my credit file. When i concluded the questions it came up as saying they couldn't reccomend any as they couldn't confirm my information. As i now have two debit cards and on the electoral register as of june 1st. is the problem i've only just appeared on the electoral role and perhaps the soft search isn't seeing me.
I'm hoping to get the capital one card the basic one but if i don't show up on the system then theres no use at the moment to apply.0 -

The NatWest & Co-Op Accounts may take around 1/3 Months to appear on your Credit Report as they only update with your conduct in the same timescales.
If your Credit Reports are now stating that you are registered on the Electoral Register then that is fantastic, I am in two minds now though to say wait a few months or go ahead with the Application for a Credit Card.
As you no doubt know with Credit Cards you either get Instant Accept, Referral or Instant Decline.
As long as you appear now on the Electrol Register and this also is appearing on your Credit Reports I would say you are fine - BUT they still may ask you for proof of ID / Address so don't be alarmed if they do. Most of the times as long as your ID can be verified electronically using the Electrol Register then you should be fine.
Best of luck!
PS: Did NatWest say anything about being pre-approved for a Credit Card with them or what they feel your chances would be on acceptance? You never know but I guess the only downside would be the lack of credit history more than anything at this time which the Capital One Classic or Vanquis Visa would help you build up.David

I haven't asked natwest about a credit card i think i'd be declind as i've only just got the current account.
I think the basic capital one visa is probably my safest bet but i'll leave it a little longer to get afew green ticks before i do.
