DO NOT Buy from TESCO

My daughter and son bought the same CD as a present for Father's Day. Two days later tried get a refund for one of the CD's, armed with the till receipts showing purchase dates, they refused to refund.

The CD's were NOT even sealed in cellophane like most other stores.

Advise to Buyers - Use Amazon, their prices are better and will offer refunds on unopened CD's

Oh, OK then, if you say so.....I'll never darken their doorstep again.
Not sure why you had a problem, they're usually pretty good.

As for Amazon, yes, they're usually excellent too, although you can run into problems with market place sellers as my son has learnt to his cost. It would probably be okay with faulty items, but you get nowhere with unwanted goods. You also need to remember if you wish to return an item, there will be an additional postage charge which needs to be taken into consideration.

Oh, & is there any chance they were sealed when bought & it was removed when wrapped, which may be why they didn't take them back...just a thought. If not, try again & speak to a manager.

Tesco CD's are not cellophane wrapped, obviously you have never bought one.

I'm constantly amazed that anyone buys CDs from anywhere.

Kinda understandable, what is to stop your daughter/son buying the cd's, taking them home, copying them and returning them?! The security tag that is on the side of the cd. I dont frequent Tesco but when i bought fifa 11 that had an anti tamper seal on the opening. Don't buy cd's though

I experienced this a couple of years ago. I took the CD back the very same day but as they dont sell the cd's with any kind of wrap or security sticker they wouldnt let me exchange or refund. Never bought a CD from there since. I complained to Tesco Customer Services and got fobbed off.

I used to buy quite a few DVDs and CDs from Tesco instore but not anymore purely because of this now.

I always buy from Play.com or Tesco Entertainment online, cheaper anyway and can be returned with no problems.

Although this is their policy it just might be worth a call to Customer Services, Fathers Day, children upset etc. you never know they might do something if you tug at their heart strings enough!!

A buyer has more rights when buying online so no surprise that amazon offers a refund

If you purchase anything from a shop you have no automatic right to a refund if the item is not faulty
