Mondeo alarm driving me mad

If it's anything like the focus, the bonnet switch is in the lock itself, there's a little plunger on top which operates a switch when the bonnet is open/closed, again if it's anything like the focus there will be a plug at the bottom of it, if you remove this plug, and lock your car up and it stops the alarm from going off, then the switch inside the lock is broken. On your car it may tell you on teh dashboard that the bonnet is open, due to the switch being disconnected.0

I thought that the switches used for alarms were normally of the "push to make" type so the plunger has to be down to complete a circuit to stop the alarm going off.
This is so that if someone cuts the wire (or in this case, disconnects the switch which is really the same), the alarm will activate.
I may well be wrong, but having it that way would make sense to me.0

^^ If it's that type of switch, i'd cut the wires, bridge across permanently and throw the switch in the bin.
Beyond a few years old, the chances of someone wanting to nick a bog standard car are very slim indeed.....“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Yep, attached to the lock and taking the wire off will cause the alarm to sound. You need to bridge the wire.
Sometimes spraying the switch with WD40 cures it.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

My 2000 Mondeo alarm keeps going off, and it is driving me mad. I cannot get any advice from garages (just leave it with us mate!!!).
I do not know where the sensors are, or what they look like, and I would really love to disable the alarm altogether, because I do not think that anyone would really wish to steal it.
 Cheers.
If that is ye olde Mk2 Mondeo (curvy one made 1996 - 2000) then it has a seperate horn for the alarm (my 1997 one did, I'd expect it to be the same for the 2000 model). If you have no luck with the above suggestions for fixing the alarm properly, then you could just unplug the alarm horn. Its in the boot, somewhere in the hollow section behind the lining on the left side.0

Ford alarm systems are terrible in this way. It's usually the bonnet that's the issue, too. The alarm on my old Ka used to go off whenever I washed it (something to do with water getting in and disturbing the sensors under the bonnet). Luckily it wasn't a horn system, and had a siren instead.0
