sent 4, received 4 and lost 4? should that be 'lost 0'?
and i'm guessing it's giving a reply on each one? if it is then it's connected to the internet..
So what happens when you actually try and use the internet? does it just not load pages? tell you it's working offline etc?
do you have msn on there? and does that log in etc?0 -
Sorry lost 0
When i try to cnnect, gives me a page that says internet explorer cannot display the webpage. Gives an option to click on 'diagnose connection problems'. When i click on that, after detecting, it says problem is that the configured proxy is not responding.0 -
Cannot log onto msn either0

If you're using internet explorer, go into.. Tools > internet option > connections > LAN settings.. and what's set?
'configured proxy is not responding' sounds like you've got a proxy server set for some reason.0 -
Ok, its set as automatically detect settings.
Also, proxy server is set.....hmmmmm0 -
interesting!
is it a work laptop by any chance?
have you ever been able to connect to the internet?
internet options being greyed out normally means there's a policy set so you can't access anything you shouldn't and make changes which is common on work laptops that they don't want you using for personal use.. Or you have a virus which has set a proxy server, which seems strange if it won't connect to the internet as it defeats the object.0 -
Sorry i managed to get internet options.......not a work laptop, own one for home use
P.s found 4 trojan, backdoor infections on malwarebytes which iv deleted0 -
is there anything set in the proxy settings box?0
-
Yes it says address: ystem32 and port 800
-
uncheck the box above it that says 'use a proxy server.....' so it greys it out. Then restart internet explorer and try and access a webpage.0
