Hi all
I have received a letter from Talk Talk saying that I am over my 40gb allowance for May. However my billing period is from the 17th of the month to the 16th. Does anybody know the start of the download month? Is it from the 1st of the month or from the start of your billing period. Two separate phone calls to TT CS gave me the two above answers !

I don't KNOW, but my opinion would be that it is based on your billing cycle rather than calendar months.0

I'm with TalkTalk and their broadband allowance runs from the 1st to the 30th/31st of the month, irrespective of when you get billed.0

From the horses mouth, as it were.
Thanks for clarifying.

They never complain about all the months you use well under your 40gb allowance !!!!
But go over for just one month, after being a good customer for many years, and they immediately complain and try to get more money out of you !!!0 -
Just one month over? I think you'll find they automatically apply the boost (at £5) if you go over for 3 months in any 6 month rolling period. (Or, at least that's what their terms say). Although they DO send a warning email any time you go over.
The boost (if applied) must remain for 30 days and then you can remove it.
(I'm not with TT, but reading their forums is very enlightening.)

The calculations are made from 1st of month to last day of month - you can check your usage from your MyTalk account.
