I'm pretty sure you could,I may be wrong.

However most people do not take stuff back if it doesn't cost much. It's not worth the hassle.

And yes the pound shops do honour guarantees my sister worked in one for long enough.

    Yes.....you are.

    Have you spoken to Argos?

At the time I posted I had emailed them and merely received a 'template platitude'.

Subsequently they have got in touch to say they are unable to offer a replacement as our model is no longer made (true, and I wouldn't want another one). They have offered £229 towards a different mattress from their range, part of me says this isn't a bad offer as we've had eight months of use albeit some of that uncomfortable use.

Part of me says we paid over £300 for the original mattress, if this were a similar priced domestic item would it be reasonable to offer less than the full retail price to replace it like for like?

"We're very sorry your washing machine was a complete disaster, they don't make it any more so have 75% of the cost of it back to buy a new one". Having written it down it doesn't seem quite as reasonable...

    Any thoughts?

    Regards,
    Jason.

How much will it cost to replace the mattress as close as like-for-like as possible.

Thank you for correcting my error. I really did think all products had a 12 month guarantee.
