The flats are reasonably sized but your washing machine and tumble dryer will be in the cellar. We had a trampoline as did lots of other people. Theyre are a few play parks round the quarters We used to be able to get mwst forms for shopping (you get the tax back 19%) but not on cigarettes or alcohol but those were cheap enough from the naafi. Also you can get permits to go to the American PXs but these are afew hours drive away but well worth the travelling.
Summer holidays we spent in Italy camping at the American base and dirty cheap!! (if its still available I dont know)
Also whilst your out there make use of the free Learn Direct Courses available from the Education Centre.
Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions.
When I found out we were going to Hohne I cried as I had heard so many scare stories saying it was awfull etc but we really really enjoyed it and I regularly go back to visit my German friends.Sealed Pot Challenge member #982

Also dont forget to visit Sudsee (man made beach but also has an indoor swimming pool), Serengetti park (safari park and amusements) Heidi Park (theme park) Often the Regiments do days out to these places for reduced entry but Heidi park is deffo worth getting a season pass.Sealed Pot Challenge member #982
