No it's not a Seat! (Presumably Seats are not well liked here?)

Nothing much wrong with them but they are referring to one of the great MSE "Classic" threads:

there was a girlie on here asking about a car loan for her fella for a Seat, same sort of circumstances generally.

Car got slated, so did she, then it all turned messy because she wouldnt have it that maybe just maybe a few of the people on here may have seen the potentially disatrous situation in their own lives to be able to offer some guidance.

    What car is it for?

Knowing that we could possible give you idea of how much it might depreciate over the six years you own it. That might be enough to put you off.

It's a Skoda Fabia VRS. Reasons being that currently I haven't got a car at all (borrowing my mother's) and need one which is more economical - the Skoda is cheaper to tax, insure, and has better fuel economy than the current motor - and is also a bit of fun.

Skodas score high on the reliability index and the model I'm after has only been out about a year and as there is around a four month waiting list on them they are currently more to buy second hand than they are new. They're just under £17k from a dealer but if I use drivethedeal.com they come in at less than £14k.

    There's a waiting list for a Skoda?

    Blimey how times change.
