Morning all, hope you are all well, the tiny bit of space that had appeared in the chest freezer has now been filled again after a short visit to asda last night, i like to buy the cooked meat from the deli when it has been reduced, stocked up again now.Grocery Challenge 24th Feb-28 Dec 2012 £2000/£1404

Morning all.
Made a nice pasta bake for tea last night with tuna, mushroom and sweetcorn. Enough left over for my tea tonight. Dinner will be Maccy D's as I'm meeting ds and taking him out for dinner which I'm sure he'll enjoy.
Going to a 4 week practical parenting course in the afternoon which I'm sure will be pretty pointless but hoping I get a few tips and I'm sure it'll look good on paper for when I'm applying to be a teaching assistant. I'm hoping people don't think I'm doing it because I feel I'm a rubbish parent! lol
Trying to save money over the next few weeks. I am going to start going out without my purse, or with minimal money to stop me spending money on stuff I already have. I will take a trip to asda tho today to see if I can get some of those fairy washing tabs.
Edit - won't be getting the fairy tabs, as they're for a dishwasher and I don't own one! There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Those Sainsbury's TTD crumpets were really nice and well worth 10p per pack. lol
Have to watch for those and stock up.
Had a little look at food and a little sort. Found some parsnips just starting to sprout and will be made into spiced parsnip soup with a carrot or 2.
Took out some lightly smoked salmon fillets for hubby's lunch, reduced from £4.79 to 79p - from Loch Torridon apparently!!
I'm finishing of the last of the fish fingers.
Got quite a few potatoes to get rid of, so thinking of steak tomorrow with roast veg and that'll get rid of the swede.
Might have veggie sausages and mash on Friday's veggie day instead of a brunch, makes sense.
Probably take out a joint of beef for the weekend.
All sounds easy. lol
Listening to Madonna's Immaculate Collection cd, she was much better then!!
EDIT: Just waiting for an email confirming some "free money". lol
That will cheer me up, it'll make it OVER £150 of "free money" in approx. 1 week. :j

hi all, the inlaws bought us a chippy tea last night, so tonight we're having sheperds pie, might try bulk it out abit and make a mince pie aswell, altho i have no scales :O there still in the old house, meals for today have been
breakfast egg baps (made using free eggs from the chieckens that live outside my front door, not mine so not a contant supply sadly and reduced baps so breakfast for all cost about 14p), lunch was cheese salad sandwichs (using reduced bread and alf price cheese, and on offer lettuce and tom's) dinner will be sheperds pie (using half price mince and on offer cheese again)
i could do with some more catherdral before the offer goes off and i can use the price news voucher i might go for some on friday aswell as some much needed butter.DEC GC £463.67/£450

Hi gals !
Just eating quails egg salad.. not very MSE admittedly, but since I gave up diet Pepsi for more than a week now, I reckon I can afford/deserve the luxury.
My tastebuds seem to have changed, my beloved Hellmann's mayo is tasting like vinegary slime rather than creamy yummyness
OH got me a dab out of the freezer for lunch but it was rock solid so I may have that for dinner and give him the ASDA lamb meatballs I found lurking in there.
The freezer has got plenty of space it's my fridge that looks crowded..OH has taken to buying ASDA own brand isotonic sports drinks (as if) and this morning I found naan, part-baked ciabatta rolls and honey roast ham perched on the jars shelf, cos there were loads in there.
Pouring with rain so NSD for me.0 -
Hubby got his Hoegaarden and used the £3 off £20 voucher and is well pleased - he's got a total of 48 bottles and should be!!
Bought a new pair of trousers from M&S and finished off the Living Social voucher, so all vouchers spent now - enjoyed it though and hope they repeat it.
Spending today so far:
1 x sack of onions (9kg) - £1.50
1 s Branston Ketchup - 77p
1 x Branston brown sauce- 66p
2 x Cheddars crackers (BOGOF) - £1.09
Total £4.02, might check Sainsbury's tonight. Can't buy anything to freeze though!!!
Just learned how to post photo's. lol
Hubby's lunch and it looked beautiful cooked.
Look at the bought date (bought on use by date), bit of an antique.
Sadly, few other things even older!!!!!!!

Is that october Lynsey if so you've got nothing on me, i lifted mince out of my freezer yesterday dated jan which sounds ok, but i havent bene buying supermarket mince since way before xmas because we found a lovely meat wholesaler (can't wait to run my freezer done and make better use of him) so it must be jan last year
it was half price at 75p
, and i have some roast beef slices, we bought when bring my sister home after xmas LAST year lol-they weren't great tbh hence why we still have it.
Made some pastry by eye and it looks fabprob abit to much butter but thats a good thing imo, also made the sheperds pie, now i just need to decide which one i'm having for dinner, prob sheperds pie, then mince pie tomorrow (really there both mince pie just different toppings i suppose :rotfl:)
