Lynsey - for seeds, what about Holland & Barrett? They have specials on from time to time which could be useful. I had someone from the UK send me over hemp seeds as I couldn't get hold of them and I seem to recall them being a reasonable price.

Have fun Lip_Stick, will be worth all the stress once you get there.

Thanks for the butter heads up Lynsey, don't eat it myself but will get some for the parents as going over this weekend.

Well looking at a NSD on the grocery front today as nothing I need, going to the shops to get an easter egg for a friend's child, who I'm seeing this weekend but that should be it, oh and some wrapping paper for my mothers day gift!

Cereal for breakfast, chicken chow mein with noodles for lunch...finally getting through the towering noodle stash, the end is in sight! ;):rotfl:

Sofiaki - I'll check them out, but always wary of H&B's gimmicky promotions. Sometimes something worthwhile does pop up though.
Nice to hear Lip_Stick will be getting some nice weather, pretty good in the UK these last few days, up north anyway.

Been very, very busy and just snacking.
Popped into Morries for some bread and milk and forgot the milk!!
Spent £1.67 on 2 packs of reduced mushrooms for 49p per pack and some bread buns.
Need to go back out for milk and will try Sainsburys later as we will pass them on the way back from B&Q (need some more paint). Maybe find a few offers??

    Well worth going out.

    Milk - 4 pints £1.18 :(
2 tubs Green and Blacks organic vanilla ice-cream reduced from £4.19 to £1.05 each - £2.10.
    4 x packs smoked bacon - 49p from £1.67 - £1.96.
pack of Wiltshire ham - half price £1.44.

Total £6.68 and £1.67 spent earlier in Morries - total for day - £8.35.

Also bought a snow shovel for £2.50 for next winter and NOT the next few weeks hopefully!!

2 x oil burners 70% off and only £1.05 each.

Loads of 70% off stuff, but saving pennies.

Lynsey as usual you did well.. NSD for me, wiped out by cold and only thing I can face is spaghetti/macaroni cheese = major carb fest.

I think the Tesco Value tinned short spagehetti isn't too bad and that I prefer the milder Happy Shopper macaroni cheese to the tangy Heinz stuff., but due to cold my tastebuds are unreliable.

Wonder whether Lip_Stick will check in ? Will she resist the temptation to nose in a French supermarket ? Will she get les collettes jaunes ??
  • Well done Lynsey on your bargains!!! :)

I've just devoured a large packets of cookies so that's one less thing in my cupboard :p

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Hugely fed up today, my car ins/tax/MOT costs (presuming it passes) are going to be about 1k all in and this is money I don't have so it will have to go on credit, being out of work a few months has a MASSIVE impact on insurance premiums, so unfair. So looks like I will be eating out of the freezer/storecupboard for as long as I can make the food last!!! Looking ahead, on top of that, I will be in the minus figures each month on my budget even without buying food!!

Crumpets for breakfast, no idea for lunch, might put some bread on and have that with cheese unless I make a dip, then stir fry for dinner I think or I might have cauliflower cheese. Same menu for Saturday.
