    Evening all

Went to BHS for the free fish and chips. They were charging 70p extra if you wanted peas with it despite all the other weeks including them, plus they were shown on the pic of the voucher. I wasn't happy despite not being bothered about having them lol. Was a nice meal though and filled me up a treat.

Not feeling hungry for tea at the mo, but that may change after a glass of vino or two. Thinking about getting takeaway for tea as I can't be bothered to cook.

I spent a few quid at wilkinsons on a rat toy and rat food, and a few more at tesco. Tomorrow I'm going to see Puss in Boots with mam and ds. batman tshirt in primark so may get ds that just to keep him happy.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

^ maybe drop an email complaint about the peas, they might give you a voucher for some free! Seems bit unfair if it was on the pic!

Dinner - finished the last hm quiche with the last ciabatta roll. Now have no bread and no rolls for breakfast and I'm going out too early to make some in the morning unless I get up around 6am...

Just made a quick chocolate sandwich cake - I have SO much stuff in the way of cake ingredients and decorating stuff to use.. going to put extra buttercream on the top so I can use up some of the chocolate sprinkles!

Hope your quiche turned out better than mine!

Was thinking of making a complaint about the unwanted peas lol.

Ran out of bread myself, in fact ran out about a week ago but been putting it off buying more as I've no room to store half a loaf in the freezer.

Your cake sounds lush, could just eat a slice or two!

I used the Wilkos individual small pie cases for the quiches, £1 for 20 I think they were, came out quite well and seem to cook from frozen quite well!
I would defo complain about the peas, even if you don't want them, it's the principle!
I have nothing breakfast like at all, no cereal, no yoghurt and I have a lot of walking to do tomorrow, unless I have cake..
Just waiting for it to cool to eat it! Still didn't use the rest of the marge up though.. and now I've run out of sugar... so will have to replace that.

Dinner tonight is a sort of pasta-less pasta bake with cheese from freezer, romano peppers and leeks from Lidl, value button mushrooms from Tesco (not bad at all), ASDA parsley, bayleaves from garden, Loyd Grossmann tomato & pepper sauce (offer) from Co-op, Kallo organic veg stock cube from cupboard.. a throw it together and bake thing because I've been getting on with early spring cleaning and yelling at OH for overspending big time.

Kirri, will check those out when I'm in town next. I'd like to make one decent quiche at least lol. Cake is a good breakfast if you have a glass of milk with it. Nothing wrong in that lol. You should see what they have for brekkie on the continent! haha. That's why I had the leftover quiche for mine. :)

Edwardia, for a meal without pasta that sounds nice, really nice.

Lynsey, very jealous of your £15 per week gas bill, but yes, roll on summer!!

Jealous?? I can imagine with your bill!!
Not too sure if that's average as we put in a more energy efficient boiler just over a year ago. Still a lot, I hate paying more than £800'ish per year for both gas and electricity.

Managed a NSD, so good week so far - not as planned though.

Sorted the freezers a little and took out some pork chops which have been there quite a while - 4 pork chops. Casserole tomorrow which might do Sunday also. The gaps, the gaps, they are appearing at last - first time in ages I'm in proper control!

Buying some bacon medallions for my brother tomorrow and will get 4 packs for myself. Pick up the milk at the same time and maybe some sugar and eggs.

Talking of quiches, have you tried the Lidl ones?? They are quite nice and cheap - sometimes only 99p - I like the cheese and onion one.

Lip_Stick - I would like to try those free fish and chips, but nearly a 30 mile round trip to a BHS!!

Er I had reduced price Tesco egg mayonnaise sandwich filler for breakfast - half the tub for me half for El Labrador. I always have eggs for breakfast in some form or other and get through a dozen a week more or less - and my cholesterol is great :D GP to me " Your cholesterol is great, what do you do ? " Moi, with smirk: " Eat eggs".

Lip_Stick thank you.. I ended up toasting some pine nuts and walnuts, didn't need the stock cube and added in fennel and celery. Good but filling !

    Morning, off to Lidl soon.
Just had muesli bread toasted for breakfast.

Had an email from Baking Mad http://www.bakingmad.com/ and some interesting recipes there (coupons also if you sign up).

For the veggies (and non veggies of course), this sounds nice - pear and cheese calzone pizza.
