Eminem at Ward Park

I am a fan of Eminem but I couldn't justify the ticket cost. I also live nearish to Ward Park and know that if the wind is blowing the right direction, most of the concert could be heard from here. That's great if it saves me that amount of money but by the same token, I can understand why some people are complaining.
Look at it this way. If Eminem was playing an indoor concert at Kings Hall or Odyssey there wouldn't be a problem. The fact is that Vital is an outdoor concert and there are plenty of young ears who live nearby and will hear some pretty explicit words. I'm no bible-basher and wouldn't be going down to protest but I could imagine if my grandparents (god bless their souls) lived beside the park, how they'd have felt hearing the language he uses. I hope that the fun of the masses won't be spolit by the minority but I do understand that Mr Shady isn't to everyones taste and why should people who live nearby be forced from their homes for the evening to avoid it?0 -
Vital should have booked Westlife then it wouldnt only have been the holy rollers protesting, people with a taste in music could have joined in as well.0

I'm glad I don't live within earshot of this gig. Not because Eminem's music is offensive/misogynistic/whatever, but because it is complete carp. :rotfl:Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Read these lyrics and decide if you want to hear this sort of stuff echoing over Bangor or indeed would you want your kids going there?
Actually the link isnt accepted because it's so bad, just Google Eminem lyrics.0 -
Kids here worse in the playground.
Your link does not show any Eminem lyrics just the front page of site for all songs.
So which lyrics are you referring to?0 -
Eminem has been known, through his lyrics, to glorify violence against women. Perhaps this is what is annoying some, along with the general explicitness and tone of his songs.0

Marshall had a lot of anger towards his ex wife and in the early days his mother.
Ex Kim had a major drug problem and a child to another man, then went to jail. What did Marshall do? He took the child into his home, loved it as he does his daughter Haley and even is bringing up a young cousin as well.:A
WOW!!!!! He really is the lowest of the low:think: Bringing up three children.0 -
This !!!! should be banned. People who exist on a diet on violent music celebrating addiction and violence need to question themselves. Fair play to the protesters for standing up for themselves. Was it not last week certain pundits in the media were supporting the right to protest an Anglican religious convention?0

Well I'm a middle aged woman(I've been informed by my dd that 40 is middle aged!
) and have a ticket. I live on the road behind Ward Park and am really happy that Eminem is coming to play in our wee town. Bangor is being run into the ground....look at Main Street, High Street and dare I mention it?? Queen's Parade! We need the money, we need something......................:A

Well yeah, in my eyes he is 'the lowest of the low' for glorifying violence towards women. Other than that aspect of him I really couldn't care less about his type of music/bad language etc etc. Each to their own in terms of the types of music they like but the lyrics glorifying violence against women would be the reason I would be avoiding his concerts.0
