I've received an email back from Beauty stop, some of the content I find very difficult to beleive ie, the increase being due to VAT rises & fuel costs hmmmm...
Thank you for your message. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the
technical difficulties we are experiencing. When we went live with the KGB Deals
promotion we were expecting sales to be an average of 500 and we have now found
ourselves with 3000 sales within 2 and a half days! This has inevitably caused
us some difficulties with stock levels and technical website difficulties, which
you are experiencing. Along side this we have now run out of stock of some
items, and as we have come to replenish this stock it the prices have indeed
arisen on various items. This does not apply to all prices but those in the Bed
Head and Fragrance categories are included in this price rise. This has occurred
because of the increase in VAT costs and fuel since the original stock levels
were purchased and as a business we cannot give items away for free and these
particular items are currently costing us very close to the prices quoted to
customers on our website and with the KGB deal we actually loose money on them.
That said, customers have purchased a voucher entitling them to £30.00 to spend
on our website at the cost of only £10, so if an item price has risen and is now
a few pounds more this will still be a massive saving to our customers using the
KGB vouchers as opposed to the cost of purchasing the item without the voucher.
We felt that it would be better for customers to be able to buy these products
at reduced prices with their vouchers than not at all! If we did not increase
the prices the stock would not get replenished and as the voucher is subject to
availability we could just not replenish stocks once they had run out. Of course
we did not want to do this and felt that enabling customers to purchase the
items as a lower price than usual would be a better option.
If you are unhappy about these price rises and feel that the voucher is not for
you, please feel free to contact KGB customer services and the will look at the
situation for a refund or you can use the voucehr to purchase other items on the
site that have not risen in value.Midwife in the making....0 -

You can get the salon sized duo on cheap smells for £17.51! and these bottles are 750ml, not the small 200ml which Beauty Stop are selling. This is massivly over th RRP. Accoridng to Cheap smells webite some like it hot conditioner @ 200ml has a RRP of £10.95 but Beauty Stop are trying to sell it for £16.95 thats just crazy. This one has made me really cross lol! I've asked KB for a refund, they have said they will look into it.Midwife in the making....0 -
i think all the deal buyers should point this out for kgb and try to get refund or beauty stop to reduce their prices0

I'm quite shocked by the way these 'beauty' websites are trying to get a foot in the door, but are blatantly shameless. First Urban Beauti, and now Beauty Shop.0

they saw the pound signs, put the prices up and still have the cheek to tell us we're still getting good deals.
how can they justify the price rises? vat went up beginning of year and as for fuel prices, yes petrol/diesel have gone up but certainly not doubled.0 -
When I first saw this I wondered how they would go about honouring the sales as there is no way that they would be able to get the products to sell that cheaply. I'm guessing this will send this company bust as there is no way a small company like this would be able to cope with the amount of loss.0
