Another option is to un-install Office 2003 using the Control Panel and install LibreOffice suite instead. It has everything and its completely free. Plus you'll still be able to open and edit all your existing Office 2003 files, and save files in .doc format if you want. I've used it and I'd recommend it, it's very good: http://www.libreoffice.org/

The only other application you might need is something to replace Outlook. For that there's the great email application from Mozilla called Thunderbird: http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/
