Should I combine postage or not?

I've sold a couple things on a BIN, both with free 2nd class postage. Buyer has paid for both on two separate paypal transactions.

Would it be wrong to send in one parcel - I know about paypal seller protection, but not covered as sending without tracking. Or should I send in two parcels? If I sent in one, would a refund on postage be appropriate?

How can you refund postage of it is free?

Well it's not refunding postage as such, it's refunding payment they've paid...lets face it no postage is free, it's just built into the start price.

But if they have agreed to pay the BIN price with free postage, there really is nothing to refund.

I would send as one parcel, I'm sure the buyer won't mind as they did'nt pay postage anyway, if they had that would be different, you could still send together but in that case offer a partial refund on the postage cost.

Was the items paid for on the same day. If i was the buyer and i paid for the items on the same day and you put the item in one bag i would mark you down on your dsr as to me this is making you a bit more money as your saving on a bag and saving on postage. I would offer the buyer a discount.

Yes paid on same day. So people don't agree then..

I'm going to weigh the item now and work out if there's a saving and then decide what to do.

The postage cost may of been included in the item price (as many seller's do) but the buyer is not to know that, if you have the postage cost listed as 'free' that's what the buyer is paying for effectively so if you send the two item's together they are unlikely to complain about it because as far as they know they have not paid for it anyway! In terms of fact the buyer has not paid for postage, they have just paid a higher price for item unbeknown to them but if they have agreed to that there is no problem.

There would be no saving on postage as none has been charged for as far as the buyer is concerned! Personally if I bought 2 items of the same seller, the same day I would prefer to receive them together and would not give a second thought about an extra bag but I suppose there are alot of petty people out there that may...
