I live local to the area and I think there is a 3 for 2 voucher in a local visitor guide which you can buy from supermarkets and newsagents in the area. They have printed the offer over the last few years and the paper costs approx £3.00. If you like I will check for you when I next go into town?

You should be able to get your 4 year old in for free if he/she is not big for their age. With places like this I have carried my kids in as you go through the turnstile so they look younger or if your baby is in a buggy then put the 4 year old in that instead. Using a 3 for 2 voucher you will get in for £50 ish ? The kids will love it as they have lots of rides for their age group and the bonus of the zoo, but take your own food as it is a bit pricey. Also take some swim stuff & a towel as there is a little waterpark with fountains which the kids will want to go in if it is warm enough!
    Hope this helps!;)

Will definatley take insect repellent - thanks.

I'll phone Scarborough TI tomorrow morning and check out the 2 for 1 voucher, failing that we can get the 3 for 2 voucher from the magazine suggested. If neither come off I will certainly carry my 4 year old (brilliant tip!) through the turnstile. Would carry the 6 year old and my husband too if I could get away with it.

I would never have thought of wet stuff and towels so thanks also for that tip. Will take a lovely picnic and our own drinks. Maybe splash out on an ice-cream if the weather holds. Thanks to all who replied

Do you know that you can actually take your tent to Flamingoland?
There's a huge touring field and at this time of year 2 nights camping would cost you £123 (3 people, say you 4 year old is 3 as it's free admission) with free admission to the theme park and Zoo plus there's an indoor swimming pool and a club with top quality shows in the evening all included for the duration of your stay.
We take a caravan 3 or 4 times a year our kids have always loved it there.

We've not been to flamingoland for a few year but when we have gone we have always had a great day. Not only the rides you get to see animals as well. If its not somewhere you are likely to visit again I would say go. :-)
  • We took our daughter for her 1st birthday last year, using Tesco vouchers for the tickets. Would never pay full price. It was a horrible experience and we'll never go back!
  • we have not been to flamingo land for four years but it was the best day of our holiday our girls were smaller then so we didnt use alot of the big rides and they loved the zoo part of the park, we took a picnic to save spending a fortune on food and drinks in the park, and were there from opening to closing, we are returning at the end of july and are hunting for vouchers as well, the girls are now 8 and 12 and will be wanting on the bigger rides (eek) for the price you would think they would have more offers available but i would say theres lots on offer for all ages:)
  • There is the Jorvik Viking centre in York (get there early) and an extremely good Poundland in Scarborough.:rotfl:

now there another expensive waste of money and not talking about poundland.

oh and dont get me started on Scarborough......

you can usually pick up 3 for 2 vouchers for it, they have pulled out of the tescos which is a shame.

took my daughters a couple of years ago 8/7 at the time and they loved it.

if you are looking for a differnt day out that doesn't cost much would suggest eden camp - my two loved it and it was quite cheap.

The best thing about Scarborough is Poundland - I know where you are coming from:rotfl:

York is better though - its got 2 Poundlands. Guess I must be a sad case:)
