Flamingo Land?

Hi,

We are camping near Malton next week and wondered what Flamingo Land is like. We have three children (6,4 and 1month). Have been to the website and it is going to cost £95 to get in:eek:!!! Is it worth that? Does anyone know of any discounts/vouchers around that we could use - it seems a little expensive to me, but my oldest would really like to go.

Any helpful hints greatly appreciated

it has went up amazingly over the past two - three years.

It was £19.99 adult, £12.99 ish per child under 11

there are 3for2 but thats about it, if you're lucky enough to find them

Maybe something here that might help.

If you are going to the Sealife Centre at Scarborough, I have a token that gives £5 off per person.
pm me with your address if you want and I'll send it to you

    Have a good time.

Many thanks, that is REALLY kind of you. We will probably not go to the Sealife Centre as F.Land will be our only expensive pay-for-entry-day out. The rest will be beach/campsite/swimming and stuff 6 and 4 yr olds can do for little or no money (run wild mostly:j). Please pass your voucher on to someone else who will use it. I am touched by the offer though.

Has anyone been to Flamingo Land? I assume we are best taking a picnic and drinks etc with us. Other than all weather gear do we need anything else?

    Thanks again.

Where are you camping? If it is spires/spiars (think that's right woods) plenty of midge repellent!

  • I haven't been to Flamingoland in the last couple of years, but I enjoyed it last time I went. Not as big as Alton Towers or the like, can't remember how bad the queues were but my 8 year old niece loved it :-) It was pretty expensive to eat there so taking your own sounds like a good idea. I remember it having a zoo when I was younger, or maybe that was Lightwater Valley, not sure if it's still there now.
From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!

Absolutely not worth it. I used to be a local until a year ago in Malton/Pickering. For £45 you can buy a day rover on the Pickering to Whitby steam railway for a family 4 (under 3's free). You could promise your daughter a visit to the ballet for even less. Perhaps even some cheap flight tickets from Ryanair.
Your money at Flamingoland goes towards extortionately expensive cars that the owners drive.
There is the Jorvik Viking centre in York (get there early) and an extremely good Poundland in Scarborough.:rotfl:
