Cancelling hotel from Expedia package

Hi, apologies if this has been covered already but I was wondering..

does anyone know if it's possible to book a package with Expedia for flights + hotel and then cancel the hotel section with a refund. I notice Expedia do not charge a cancellation fee themselves but a hotel might.

Is this a possibility for taking advantage of cheap package flights by themselves or is it a bit naughty?

Suggestion:

Look and see how much each of the following are on Expedia:
a Flight & hotel
b Flight only
c Hotel only

If a is not equal to b+c expect some charges to be lurking.

Additionally, I also strongly suggest that you check that cancelling the hotel element of a flight plus hotel booking does not lead to automatic cancellation of the flight!

you can also book a flight+hotel with hotel only for part of your trip so maybe cost it also with just 1 night accom

no it is not recommended to book both together and then try and cancel one
