I agree with your point, if they are going to allow you a new mobile phone for continuing the contract then you will take it every time (be daft not too). But the mobile companies keep contracts a high cost so that they can supply these new phones; the pricing stucture isn't right and is amazingly wasteful as people stop using perfectly good phones.0 -
The OP suggesting charging £5 a day is probably not meant to make money but focus the company into acting properly.
I have played the same game a number of times and it usually works. When diplomacy and good will on the part of the customer are exhausted then other tactics need to be deployed.
I suspect that the customer doesn't want to rip the mobile companies off but simply wants to get some action from Orange.
Stating in a letter that such charges will be applied may raise your profile as a stroppy customer, but by then the company in question has invaribly had every chance IMO to act properly and battle lines need to be drawn.
Once you have reached "Stroppy Customer" status with the company it can have the effect of giving your case some priority.
I have before now gone straight to the CEOs dept with Orange. This produced excellent results.Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0
