Orange Sent Me A Unwanted Mobile Upgrade

Orange sent me a mobile upgrade on the 6th December 2006, I told them on the 7th that I did not want this phone when it arrived. I followed there procedures and they said to allow 10 days for a collection bag to arrive.
Today is the 10 day limit and no bag, it turns out they haven't even sent one out. My question is that as I have followed all Terms & Conditions, can I start charging Orange a storage fee for there goods which they are refusing to send a collection bag for.
I am unable to send it back as they claim they unsure of which warehouse the phone came from.
In the end they going to charge me line rental for the period till they collect it, even if I didn't want this handset.
Anyone with some useful advice please,

A small update - They offered £25 credit for the inconvience caused and they will send a bag out once the sim card is deactivated by them.
Should I send a letter stating that until they collect the phone a £5.00 per day storage charge will apply.Debt Free Wannabee - Updated 13/08/2007

I would say you have done well out of it already and need to stop trying to rip someone off .. if the phone cots you money then they should pay .. if it is costing you nothing then they owe you nothing other than a goodwill gesture which they have given. becareful though because what comes around goes around ... if the phone just happens to be damaged when they get it back they may have a claim against you for negligence

Thats The Problem There Seems A Lot On Here Who Have A Valid Complaint But Want Then To Rip Companies Off Compo For This And That I Realy Do Think The Word Free Loaders Come To Mind0

IvanOpinion - How have I done well out it, they send me an upgrade to an old address, my father signs for it and now they won't collect even after I told them I don't want it.
Lets see £25 Goodwill and I will be left with an 18 month contract at £19 a month, £342 and as stated that I don't want the phone and they won't arrange collection, I don't quite f****** see how I have done well out of it, maybe you can enlighten me.
Lone Ranger - So some company sends you something you don't want, you ask for it to be collected and they refuse, are you going to bend over and accept it and let it cost you over £340. Somehow I don't think so. Word Free Loader, so you never claim freebies thats good to see but hard to believe.
And I was thinking this board was here for advice.Debt Free Wannabee - Updated 13/08/2007

I think you should reply to them to tell them that you want the contract cancelled and the 'phone collected at their expense, at a time which is convenient to you. They can't just lock you into a contract that you didn't take out, after all. £25 credit's not so bad, so long as they agree to cancel the contract and assure you that you will not be charged for anything you didn't order. You're on shakier ground with the storage charge though - after all, are you actually incurring any costs by storing the 'phone? Let us know how you get on!2015 comp wins - £370.25

Thanks to everyone who posts freebies and comps! :j0 -
All the upgrade I get from Orange are free, not heard of one costing extra so far? Surely it has to have your signature on it if the contract changes? So if you didn't sign anything then theres no contract.
I think your pushing your luck attempting to charge for storage.0 -

To ask for additional compensation (especially £5 per day) just because you have to hold onto the phone until they send a bag to collect it in is getting a little bit silly considering you have no additional loss. Do beware though they can hold you responsible for the condition of the phone upon its return (you have a legal obligaiton to keep it safe).
You will be very pleased to hear I do not work for Orange and they are definitely not one of my favourite companies. In fact I have had serious issues with them which resulted in me emailing their CEO simply to get a contract cancelled and money refunded to my mother .. and no I did not ask for or have any interest in compensation ... I just wanted money that my mother had paid out refunded.
If it is any help the email address was 'sanjiv.ahuja@orange.co.uk'..And I was thinking this board was here for advice.

They are not free, the very expensive contract payed each month covers the cost.0 -

The contract for me always remains unchanged, and the choice of contract would of course be chosen by the customer anyway.0
