hi all
any help would be great on this.
i took out a £16500 loan in may 2005 with hsbc for a car and i was paying £385.03 a month till may 2007 in that time i had payed £9240.72 and on may 11th 2007 paid £10783.64 (loan repayment A/C on statement) to pay the loan off and hsbc payed me £797.43 (loan protection on statement) i think in interest?
i think at the time i worked out it was going to cost £22k altogether but it was 6 years ago so could be wrong.
i also took out another loan in 2007 i think for about £1200 but again i dont have any paper work for that either.
i have read afew other post and is the best way to ring hsbc and ask them to send me all paperwork for loans took out from 2005 or write to them with the template letter off the site?
many thanks
matt

If you want copies of the loan agreements etc, there's some useful advice here:

hi
i read that before i wrote the post but as i have 2 loans in the last 6 years how would i word the template letter? should i request a copy of any agreements i have took out since 2005 and the terms and conditions from 2005 (1st loan) and 2008 (2nd loan). or should i just ring hsbc and ask for the agreements?
thanks matt0 -
You could ring and ask and they should send them to you, t/c, these are free.
They may do a claim over the phone for mis sell and they should find your accounts from your name and address.
If you hit a stumbling block, then send a letter asking for all information they hold on you and enclose £10.0 -
thanks
i think i will just ring them and ask them to send me any loan and credit card agreements that i have taken out. is that right?
thanks0 -
Yes, but if they say they cant ask them for all data they hold on you and have a card ready for the £10
they charge for getting this.
They may ask you to put this in writing, if they do then send a letter.0 -
if i tell them i started a loan in may 2005 and one in oct 2008 and took a credit card in 2008/9 then they may just be able to get them details.0

i have just come off the phone to hsbc and i asked about the loans i took out in 2005 and 2008 and the credit card in 2008, they told me they will get back to me in 5 days to let me know what is happening and to keep me in the picture.
not sure if thats good or not but its a start.0 -

i still havn't had any response off hsbc regarding my claim and it is 2 weeks tomorrow and they said they would be in touch in 5 days.
so do i write to them asking for the information regarding the loan or do i phone them and ask what is going on?
thanks matt0 -
I would ring them and keep them on their toes.0
