No no she doesnt, shes highly alergic to a few things so she cant eat anything we havent made for her. She eats well and cheap :-) Vegetables, pasta, fish portions etc.
If we cook for ourselves and its suitable for her she will eat with us but takeaways dont happen for her. Last time she tried some of mine we ended up in hospital all night with her looking like the elephant man! haha
Actually I'm a little confused. Does this mean that you are actually cooking for her every night anyway, then you call for a takeaway for yourselves?
Obviously if you are already doing food for DD then could you not just make the same for you as well? You could always spice yours up a bit if you think its too bland.
Its also probably a good thing to stop buying in stuff shes allergic to ( ie takewaways etc) just in case she gets her hands on it somehow. Like you say theyve a mind of thier own at 2 but she wont understand the potential harm of doing what she wants.

mrslawrence2003 wrote:to be fair i was posting on the fly (didnt have chance to read the whole thread) and just wanted to help. incidentally - i know u dont want to change sky and fine, but when your contract comes to an end it might be worth looking into this new digibox as it functions exactly like sky plus, but just not with sky channels (if u see what i mean).
as regards your daughters allergies, not sure if you already do this but u can get things like soya milk and wheat/gluten free flour from your docs on prescription. this may well work out much cheaper than buying it normally - could be worth looking into?
Ok thanks very much for that ill ask next time im there.
And will look into the digibox's once the contract is out. Thanks again“I want it before I can afford it addict”Debt as of Feb 2008= £16,01.79Proud to be dealing with my debts!- Just wish they would go away!0 -

lol yep you got it. Thing is ellies meals take 10 mins to cook, ours take longer most of the time. And to be honest alot of the "i cant be bothered to cook" is more of a "i fancy a pizza not a jacket spud" attitude. Soooo this is easily changed its just laziness!
and you are right about the takeaway stuff...we are very careful to bag and bin everything straight away. She is really good at sitting and waiting for her dinner so it doesnt tend to be a prob. But takeaways are a no no now anyway!!
We had mince meat and potatoes last night with onion gravy...cost a hole £2 to feed the 3 of us (even though i froze mine for ellie in the future because it was rank! haha). Im so fussy i can see this cheap eating being a problem for me but to be honest ill go without if it means i can feed clothe and house my family! I ended up having cup a soup lol, lame i know!“I want it before I can afford it addict”Debt as of Feb 2008= £16,01.79Proud to be dealing with my debts!- Just wish they would go away!0 -

Can you cook - did you mention earlier its you that can and your wife isnt great at it. Why not do a batchload on the weekend?
You can do a pie for the freezer, curry, lasagnes, spag bol, chilli and so forth to freeze and then all wife needs to do is take them out of the freezer in them morning and bang them in the oven.
have you tried cooking courses? my local council does them for 17 quid a term, and they are reported to be pretty good. Might be an idea? especially if you look at the long term savings. Most people who are "bad" cooks, dont understand the rigours of cooking, things like timing, understanding the different types of food and how they should be cooked ( ie youd cook chicken differently to pork ) and if theyve done it before and its poor then they lose confidence. If you are leaving the food as its rank then either a) take over and teach partner things ( my OH couldnt cook anything other than oven food before meeting me, his pizzas rule now) or look at courses and think about food, watch food programmes and so on. it'll help
In terms of your credit rating. I think you should hold your horses making assumptions whats on there, until you see it. I expected my rating was shot to bits, I was really surprised that I was classed as "good" as I had defualted on so many payments when I was in a mess.
Wait and see what you get:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

I have to say I do miss takeaways - theyre much more highly seasoned than normal food and so 'normal' food takes a bit of getting used to agian. lol
but once you start eating ordinary food you do get used to it and it does get easier.
i'm convinced that takeaways have some kind of addictive drug in them because you ( as in one does) do seem to get addicted to them.

Monsodium glutamate for some. Mcdonalds allegedly purposely created a chemical for its burgers that induced the moreish feeling.
Nothing beats a handmade burger or homemade pizza for me. We have treated ourselves to takeaways recently ( the odd one) and we have been gutted as we can make them easily and much better and hotter than others can. Weve binned most of our menus now, i find takeaways so profoundly diappointing.Id rather wait and go out for a nice meal instead as and when we can afford it. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? wahey i was right for a change lol
Wish i could change my attitude to take away. I could go for days without eating and it really wouldnt bother me, but wack 2 take aways infront of me and ill eat the lot! rediculous really but i cant change it, i just dont feel hungry when its anything other than junk food! honestly i eat like a 4yr old (and no that doesnt mean i need a bib haha). Its got to change, i cant carry on like this for my health and my wallet! :rotfl:“I want it before I can afford it addict”Debt as of Feb 2008= £16,01.79Proud to be dealing with my debts!- Just wish they would go away!0 -
I haven't tried this yet. Here's curry queens recipe for basic curry sauce, with the variations underneath it. You could make the basic sauce and freeze it in portions then add the ingredients for korma or bhuna later.
