Tesco's policy for overcharging is to offer DTD (double the difference) so you were overcharged by 11px2 = 22p refund.

Was in Tesco Ballymena a couple of weeks ago and got over-charged on 2 packets of draft insulation for around doors and windows. The double reduced isle end boxes/DIY stuff.
    SEL stated 34p charged 75p x 2pks total overcharge 92p

Took it to customer services to complain about it thinkin DTD (free + 34p)

But when she worked it out. The girl stated that they owed me 92p. I agreed 92p was the over charge but DTD was £1.84.

She then pointed and referred to an A2 size poster behind her and told me that that was their new policy. As Tesco had realised how much their DTD policy was costing them.

    Anchor Chocolate mousse.

    Shelf price £1
    Scanned at £1.98

    Got refunded £1.98 :D

Is the policy DTD or refund? The CS assistant said I get all my money back for that item:confused:

Could be laziness of the girl. Overcharged by 98p so should have got 98x2=£1.96, so you are better off by 2p. Don't spend it all at once:rotfl:
I miss too many pages due to work so if you need an answer from me, please send me a PM.

Hi Ballymena Tesco is my local shop and a couple of weeks ago I was overcharged on nappies and the girl on customer services told me I get double the difference. It depends on who you get.

It probably said, "SMILE! You are on Tesco Candid Camera. If you cause trouble with our DTD policy, then you will certainly be banned from this store."

    :)

Don't actually know. Text was a bit small. And was in a bit of a hurry at the time.

But was there again today and had to go see customer services because of a coupon not scanning at the till (told the young lad on the till i would take it to customer services and sort it, to save holding others up) (also didn't want his superviser to notice the amount of coupons I had put through). But while CS girl was sorting it , I was looking round for the mentioned poster. But It appears to have gone now.

Tesco recently had an offer for 25% off when you bought 6 single bottles of ale or lager of 1 litre or below. The offer expired on March 25th, but I found a store today with the signs still up. I got 6 bottles and the discount was not applied, so I got DTD of half the total paid.

The best offer is probably Vratislav Czech Lager 500ml, which costs 95p, so would work out at 47p per bottle after DTD. You have to be careful not to buy bottles that are on a new offer, such as Leffe Blonde 330ml bottles, which are £1.36 each, but 3 for £3 and various bottles of ale such as Hobgoblin 500ml, which are on a 3 for £4 offer.

It's worth checking for the 25% off shelf barker signs and also the red strips that run along the bottom of the shelves.

  • bought baby sweetcorn today it should of been 2 for £2 but i was charged full price of £1.32 each never had to go to customer services before for this so was not sure what they would say or if i would have to fight for the DTD but she gave it to me without any probs and got the £1.28 back lol
