We've had a few R&R's over the last year or so, not much lately.
Waited for the manager & he told me that I was BANNED from the store.
I asked for a reason & he said he couldn't give me one.
If this is the Stockton Tesco, then I would suggest that possibly this could be due to the posts you have made here which have repeatedly named it. Possibly a salient lesson for us all to be careful with locations and names.0 -
kellywelly wrote:But if I am ever refused an R&R I will simply out of principle make Tesco refund my whole shop for that day, because this is my right, because if Tesco overcharge me for 1 or 2 items in my shopping then in fact they have increased the price of the overall total of my shop unfairly and without my knowledge and I as a consumer have every right to withdraw from my contract with them. I am sure this will annoy any jobsworth CS just as much as giving me an R&R, and just let them try and ban me from any Tesco for attempting to obtain my rights as set out by Statute, I will have a legal field day, and unfortunately for Mr T this is what I live for.
Yeh..Quite a few of us have been there, done that, but you still end up with the ban.
So whats your next step.
A step which, after taking it, allows you to carry on RandRing in very nearby stores.
Please tell us how you would procede from here.
I ask because Ive got 2 store bans, one area a ban, and a letter more or less giving me a national ban.
I still RandR in very store in the country...except one.
How do you propose to RandR at all after this profile raising.
RandR isnt statute!!
Tesco Stores are private property, they can ban you for the colour of your shirt!!TKPeters wrote:Waited for the manager & he told me that I was BANNED from the store.

Just been doing our Xmas shop tonight in our Local MR T's Extra Store
We've had a few R&R's over the last year or so, not much lately.
I noticed that a coupel of members of security was sort of following us around the store tonight
& after paying for our shopping 5 members of staff followed us out
& I was asked by the security staff if I could wait a minute, as the Manager of the store would like a word with me.
Waited for the manager & he told me that I was BANNED from the store.
I asked for a reason & he said he couldn't give me one.
Asked if it was because I knew my consumer rights, he said he couldn't answer that question
I then asked if I could have it in Writing
& which point he told he I couldn't & to leave the premises as it private property
He also pointed out that it was just that store & not all Tesco's
Does anyone know where I can take this further?
I will phone Tesco's CS in the morning
& I may even contact the local paper & possible Trading Standars or a Solicitor as surely I'm entitled to have it in writing & to know why!
Take it up with HO. If that fails, put in a request under the DPA for all data relating to you held by Tesco, including at store level. It won't get your ban removed, but it will cause Tesco a LOT of hassle. It only costs £10 to request the info.Alternatively, just avoid that store.
In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Am new to this RnR lark, but thought I'd have a brief scout for the Indiana Jones Trilogy while I was there today. SEL 29.xx, no sticker on box saying any other price.
I did notice a price difference of 1p between SEL and box sticker for Blazing Saddles, though (3.97 vs 3.98 or something like that). Do other RnR'ers do the whole shebang for a price difference of 1p? I'm not sure I've got the bottle/nerve to go to customer service if the price is only 1p out!!
Anyway, I couldn't scan Blazing Saddles to check before buying as both, yes BOTH self scan machines in the Birmingham Edgbaston 5 ways Store have been removed!
(don't want a copy of blazing saddles anyway, so didn't get it).0 -

A word of caution for taking it up with HO. I would expect them to confer with the manager in question for him to explain his reasons, and if he can make a strong case against you then they could easily side with the manager and extend the ban nationwide.
I don't know what the best approach to HO would be to minimise this possibility.
Possibly therefore you should just not go to that store. However I would also expect part of the banning procedure for them to communicate to other local stores your description and the reason for the ban, so be careful elsewhere too.0 -

Yeh....being charged £1499.99 for a £1499.98 42" TV is an overcharge, and according to Tesco's policy, should be a straightforward RandR.Couponing....."every little hurts"
