Tesco misprice discussion area part 16

Another visit to Tesco Extra. Again it was a very festive occasion - this time staff were dressed up (amongst other things) as pirates and cowboys, which I thought was very appropriate. Some more beer and cider on the 2 for 16 offer, more really nice meat and at long last a Futurama DVD. CS staff were very nice too
Incidentally, if Tesco managers do get a host each day telling them exactly what is posted on this forum – then why don’t they do something about the misprices? The Futurama DVD was on this forum weeks ago, the meat has been mentioned loads of times, I’m tired of seeing copies of The West Wing (it is still in loads of stores) and the beer cockups just keep going on and on an on. I have so much beer that my children think I’m going to open a shop with it. So if managers are really getting inside information I would expect them to be spot on with their pricing, but far from it. There really are some very easy pickings out there, which seem to be almost permanent misprices.0 -

Hi
I went to my local tesco big metro store , i saw some guylian belgian classics collection pack big one 630g weight SEL offer was 5.xx and i thought it was a good deal. I bought one got home and found out they charge me 9.99gbp for that one.
Eventually after reading this forum in went back in the evening ( i bought this in afternoon) to get r+r , the item was no longer on the shelf and there was no lable on the shelf either( i understand they realised their mistake by then) . So they told me that i had no proof and so will only offer the difference in giftvoucher as a gesture of good will , i refused and asked r+r and a d**k head Duty manager told me take difference or get lost , i refused and he asked security people to remove me from premises.
I didnt do any thing like that and was plainly asking a r+r according to tesco policy.
I really am not happy about what happen.
Do you think i can call Tesco HO to complain not only about the r+r but about the duty managers attitude and behaviour.
Also Go on find them tomorrow in shops and get full r+r on them if you find sel cheaper than 9.99gbp if they still scanning for 9.99gbp0 -

When I tried to tell her about the policy she said I'd only been overcharged on one item as the discount only applies when the second item is bought. I couldn't think of an answer so just accepted it and got the other crate refunded at another store.
What could I have done in this situation to get both free?
You could have said 'Well I think that I have been overcharged on both, could you check with the manager.' Quite often duty managers will not get involved and simply agree to the refund.0 -

Same thing happened to me, but I bought 4 crates. I took 2 back to another store for refund as well.
I spoke to magner but did not want to raise my profile too much in this store as I have already been banned from one rich pickings storeDon't waste your words I don't need,
Anything from you.

Some of the stores are absolutely useless. One store near family had sex and the city mispriced over two weeks ago - got a £95 refund no problem. A week later they had still only removed the SEL's but left the wrong stickers on, partner got £95, no problem. Today, I have been back in the same store and they are still out with the wrong stickers. Another store close to this had Doctor Who S1 mispriced a couple of weeks ago - both sticker and SEL. Yesterday, on my first return since getting it to the store I noticed they had put new stock out - again with the wrong sticker and still the wrong SEL. Went back today, and guess what...they have put another one out - with the wrong sticker and still have not removed the wrong SEL.
One of my local stores just removes the prices off any mispriced products, without replacing them for weeks. After the Simpsons/Futurama fiasco they removed all prices off ALL tv dvd products - it took two and a half weeks for them to put any prices back out - and guess what...they just put the old incorrect labels back?!
Had a bit of run in yesterday - saw the star wars lego ps2 game priced at £23.xx on the posters, with no price on the SEL. First customer services woman was really friendly, accepted it as an overcharge no problem. However, as she was processing it her colleague butted in and said that the date at the bottom meant it was not an overcharge. I went to check and argued that I could not read that as it was too small, and that was the only price on display...but she was having none of it. So asked to speak to a duty manager, who refused to even offer me the £1 difference (let alone a refund), and refused to cover up the incorrect prices! I had a lengthy discussion about the illegalities of this, but he wasn't bothered and didn't seem concerned that customers would still see the incorrect price...
In another store I saw the cars dvd display with £13.67 on it - got a copy and went to c/s, leaving my partner looking at other dvds. Let the hitler woman go by herself to check the price - and she came back saying there was no price on the stand. I then went with her - and there was no price...because as my partner had witnessed - she had just taken it off and given it to a manager! I stood at the stand and said it must have been moved, the manager appeared saying that the price had always been £13.97 and I was mistaken. At this point, my partner interrupted and said he had just seen them take the label off. I don't know if it was someone off here but another guy who had been looking at dvds then said the same - the manager then said that we were being abusive to staff and making up lies and to go before he banned us (including the random stranger guy!). I wasn't particularly fussed about not getting the refund - the £14 was worth it to confirm the depths to which some staff are stooping.
Will just end a lengthy post by saying that some of the c/s this week have been great and that I do tend to just post with my moany stories, but I think thats because I am getting old(er!).

Been there, done that twice, (although with HO not TS)
Aren't these type of managers extremely infantile.
What hope for the staff they manage!Couponing....."every little hurts"

Unfortunately as there was no evidence of an overcharge, you dont have a case for an RandR........and although the manager offered you the difference, it cant be construed from that, that there was an overcharge..........he was simply being "festive" he would say.
Theres no real excuse for his behaviour, depending on yours of course.
I doubt whether HO will give you anything more than an apolgy, but in receiving this, your profile will rise, and you may not be able to visit this store in future.
You IMHO, really had no case.........he knew this........as the evidence had gone.
This possibly isnt the answer you would have liked, but its no good me kidding you.
As annoying as it is, I would go back, get the difference, and live to fight another day.Couponing....."every little hurts"

What it needs is for a trading standards officer to witness this type of behaviour.....0
