The PSP is long complicated story and very confusing!!

There were 3 SEL labels out, for a PSP value, standard and giga pack. We bought the giga pack for £209.xx and were charged £219.xx so went back to get our money back, but it turns out we had the giga bundle pack, although there was nowhere else on the shelf that the giga bundle pack could have been stacked. So the manager wouldnt give us a R&R as he said the product we had was different to the SEL-see told you it was complicated!

The manager offered us the difference but wouldnt do R&R spoke to HO CS who also agreed with the manager, so ended up taking it back-out of temper mainly! Still least had clubcard points on it......

I had the same view about going to get the R&R, as the SEL could be changed quickly, and at least now I know the policy isnt at the managers discretion. Hopefully the policy wont change as some people have mentioned may happen as we've only just found out about this and were looking forward to getting lots of goodies from Mr T!!!

I occasionally work on CSD and haven't been told of any changes. I've also asked various Managers and no-one has heard of any planned changes to the Policy.
  • Thanks Aussiebird, Oh and welcome to the forum, I am sure that nearly all of us will treat you with respect, we have problems with some R&Rer "Trolls" too. don't let them wind you up. Oh! Hope you have a great year ahead, and once again thanks.

Did it say that you had bought the Giga BUNDLE pack or Giga Pack, any sign saying giga bundle pack or anything? Because it sounds to me like the manager has not obeyed his policy.

The Policy doesnt state that it is to the Stores discretion so no he HAS to give you a refund. However alot of managers refuse to give you it sometimes and theres nothing you can do but phone Tesco Head Office and force them to make the manager do as he should. But usually if the manager really doesnt want you to give you the refund then you probably wont get it. They see giving you the difference as a "Goodwill gesture" and then when you refuse and ask for the lot they think your trying to scam them.

Information gleaned regarding possible changes to R+R policy.

I had a pleasant conversation with my local tesco store manager the other day and brought up the "double the difference" policy rumour.

He stated that this policy used to be used by Sainsburys ..... BUT.....
would never be used by tesco for the following reason.

Although tesco management would welcome an end to the R+R price promise, and have requested it on numerous occasions at recent AGM's the SHAREHOLDERS have demanded that R+R REMAIN.

And, the shareholders call the shots!

I suppose it helps keep management on their toes :rotfl: :rotfl:

SO, Happy New Year .......... And let us all continue to, "MAKE HAY WHILST THE SUN SHINES", as the saying goes.

Got to take query with that statement.

Shareholders do not dictate company policy, nor do they dictate what a company can or cannot do.

The board of directors is in place for exactly that reason. They are ultimately responsible to the shareholders however if the main board decide that xxx is to be the new policy the shareholders do not have a say......

I am a shareholder, as is constantine and TescoEmployee and we werent consulted - well actually, TE might have been!:p

Here http://www.tescocorporate.com/images/u50150_d.pdf is the notice of the last AGM, nowhere on it does it mention anything regarding the refund policy.

Not directly, no. But any director hoping to be re-elected when his term is finished would do well to listen to what the voting shareholders want.

The shareholders are the owners of the company, the directors merely their temporary representatives.
