Tesco misprice discussion area part 16

Hi folks,

Got a dilemma,

GF brought me a suit for Christmas on 24th November.

She went to wrap it today and noticed on the sleeve of the £50 jacket that it was marked down to £35 even though we paid £50.

Went back to the store and the woman said that "because it was over 28 days we could only get the difference back".

I'm sure this is rubbish, but can I still get a fell R&R?

Should I ring their central customer services and get them to deal with it? What would CS likely do?

But unless you get the likes of Ben500, MUNT, Hey Dude, Taxiphil, Plushchris, Richie23, Itscheapandiwantit, Spa2k, Constantine, Mcdonag, frequent, FloFlo Georgiac,Lttle John, 306NOTOUT, orainsear, Whirley and other respected posters, regularly contributing to the RandR debate on EPH.......then your members may still come back here to ask their all important questions.

I realise you and your "head people" are quite qualified(possily more than me), and some of the names above already are members.

But the depth of conversation seems nowhere near the level of MSE.

Although depending I suppose on your point of view.....that might be a good thing (I hear others cry).

This again isnt a put down.....but everytime I read something about EPH......it gives the impression that its brilliant....."the bees knees"..........I think youve got a long way to go to equal the reputation of this MSE thread........albeit, that it includes a lot of bickering and trolling............although not a lot of "backstabbing" as one of your members posted earlier.

As I say every time........Good Luck........but an RandR forum, with lots of non RandR topics maybe isnt for me...........Theres millions of non RandR forums...........and I dont go there, unless I need info.

PS.....I will keep editing my list above, as other established posters come to mind.

PPS......I may not have include people that I know are members of EPH....eg shoperholicnot, ginjim, to name couple as examples.

To be honest with you,this discussion thread means different things to different people, for many people it is somewhat intimidating and unless your in the clique you can be dismissed. If you respond to a misprice in the misprices only thread, then you get your head bitten off .MISPRICES ONLY !!,but sometimes a misprice posting demands a scondary question- EPH caters for that !, each misprice has its own dedicated thread..

How do you find a misprice on here?, yes sift through dozens of posts thats how, re this thread, yes its a great laaugh if you're in the clique but it can be very irritating to see pages and pages of back biting and disagreements such as this, thats why EPH wins hands down- its inclusive rather than exclusive.

Re the quality of posters, I would say that 306, oransear and flo flo are all regualr contributors, so the "quality" posters as you you say are there

We just don't have the backstabbing

Anyway thats enough on the subject I think

oh and Constantine and Spa won't go on there because they're as paranoid as everyone else on here.

Whilst I may have misunderstood your comment - in a public forum and hence my public response - you seemed to indicate that MSE was an inferior forum.

If I misunderstood - my apologies!

I think I used the word backstabbing first ... maybe it wasn't th best choice of word admittedly.

What I meant was all the bickering and trolling as Leadhead referred to, in particular the arguing that was going on here just over a week ago (ish).

And as someone else said (Dude?), addtional forums has got to be a good thing.

MSE is the mother and father of these sites, but a diet of one food is pretty boring. MSE is superb site and is virtually my homepage, however, EPH has simplified misprices for the benefit of everyone and works well in conjunction with MSE.

There is no competition and nor should the comments that "we've got all the best posters" be acceptable !, I am sure I speak for the majority when I say "why can't people post on both sites without critiscm".

Enjoy both sites

You are certainly correct, it does mean different things to different people.

We have all been guilty of "putting in place" of newbies(you a lot more than me mind)....lol

Re discussion in the misprices only thread.....Yes it was often criticised harshly, when it could have just said...Please repost this here....with a link.....or even answered....it still takes the same(one) post....Or it could have been copy and pasted like i did earlier today....we then discussed it.

Re scrolling through loads of junk to find misprices...this is incorrect.

Since you started up a week ago, I think we've only had a couple of dozen new misprice posts...........lol......so thats not a problem NOW

In naming posters.......I never mentioned "quality" or "quality posters!"

This seems to imply I can judge who posts what!!

I said "respected" posters.

On the backstabbing bit.....having thought about it....I guess youre right there.

Although I havent thought for a while that the thread was in danger of closure by the mods because of this.

(but again with two completely different personalities like TE and (my mate) the_postman clashing....then the forum, never mind the thread could have been in danger...............................lol)

Divadee however, seems a lot more tollerant than redfox was/is.

Edit to combat your edit I think both Spa2k and Constantine have a lot more to lose by having their details known by (anti Tesco) individuals than everyone else subscribing to your forum.

Underground sites are very difficult to organise, something I may look at again in the future, but the problem is that everyone seems to have at least 2 or 3 aliases for reasons of paranoia, secret PM's fly around trying to gleen info.

I have a group of about 5 or 6 people that I trust implicitly

Ole, Felix, 306, Maverick and the lurch

I see a secret site being created by adding slowly by referal from these people (if thats what they wanted).

but for now EPH is good for everyone !! and I guarantee everyone on here trying to put the site down will be happy to take the info from the site-won't you?
