sam i dont think there is a firmware upgrade, i have emailed grundig but i am not convinced i will get a reply. If this unit is a clone with a badge on the front then it maybe that there is a firmware hacking community out there working on it. without looking at the unit and the insides its going to be difficult to tell.0

Ok i am trying this to rip a dvd into 1 segment http://www.anders.com/guides/convert...d/windows.html
It explains how to use dvd decrypter. I let you know how i get on.
DVD Decrypter lets you rip the complete VOB files from one DVD onto your hard drive. What I haven't been able to do is combine VOB files from two DVDs into one (e.g. LOTR extended version is on 2 DVDs and I wanted to put them into one seamless movie). You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -
While it is probably ok for under £100 it certainly is not "Best Gadget/media Player Ever "0

well i had one of the archos and it is definitely a superb bit of kit.especially if you can get one for £150 as in staples clearance. direct recording from tv,no converting needed, can even copy dvd, legally and is usb hosted, just connect camera or camcorder. a steal at the price! but the grundig is smaller has a camcorder built in and i suppose is more pocketable, and i would say for 99.99 is a cracker. reviewed by magzs at original price of approx £270,so at the price now it must seriously be considered a BARGAIN!0

Keef 1 asked about viewing images as a slideshow. I found that when viewing my photos in "Image Play" it automatically ran as a slideshow although you can "pause" by simply hitting the Jog button and the II sign appears.
Not been around to view posts as have been on boat over weekend and watched 4 movies downloaded from my Aldi PVR onto the Grundig. Just great value, especially now at under £100! Why is anyone still in two minds whether to buy or not. Maybe there are better machines out there although I'm sure that all prices will start to fall quickly. Get this one now and an Archos, or whatever, in 6 months time and give this one to your old mum as a present. Personally, I am 100% happy with my purchase, just wish I had got it at the new price!0 -
Well i have tried and tried with so many different programs and there is no way i can put a dvd on it through the computer.I can put on a vdc film, that was easy.
If any one can prove me wrong, that would be nice.
A few guys are getting their players tues/wed so i should know by then.0 -
For those of you who already bought this Grundig, does it come with a car adapter so that it can be powered by the cigarette lighter? Also, how long does the battery last when viewing a movie?0
-
The manual is on message 113,Sam put it on. I cant see a cigarette lighter connection for it.And i havnt any idea how long the battery last while viewing a movie as i am still trying to put one on ! But that's my fault i am just thick, but i will get there in the end .0
