DH formats the card once he has saved all the pictures to the PC - every time. (he does take an average 200 shots minimum whenever he goes out with his camera and at air shows & suchlike he may take over 1,000 ). He learnt the hard way after a card got fragged and he had to pay OTT prices to replace it as he was out and about at the time.Truth always poses doubts & questions. You should be able to use it still
try going to "My Computer" then right click on the SD card (f: in your case) and click open.
it should have all the pictures there, its annoying but its a quick fix.
I am having a big dull moment how do i access "My computer" my heads that full of info lol0 -

There should be an icon on your computers desktop for "My Computer" if not there should be an item from the start menu on the right hand side for "computer".Truth always poses doubts & questions. 1) Plug the SD card into the computer - presumably you have a card reader.
2) Start Recuva and the wizard should start. If not select Options then Run Wizard
3) Select Next
4) Obviously select Pictures on the file type screen then select Next
5) On the file location screen select On my media card or ipod then Next
6) On the ready to search screen ignore the deep scan for now and select Start
7) If it finds files then skip the next step
8) If you get a No files found do you want to search with Deep scan message then select Yes
9) Hopefully you should now be looking at thumbnails of pictures. Tick the ones you want to recover (presumably all of them) and click on Recover
10) On the next select location for recovery screen pick/make a new folder. I suggest browsing to My documents\My pictures then select make new folder and call it Recovered
11) Now OK and your pictures should now be on your PC in the folder My documents\My pictures\Recovered
12 Close Recuva
Let us know how you get on
The above is the process for recovering accidentally deleted files, I'm not sure about recovering from corrupted SD cards.

Ouch, it looks like Recuva won't handle corrupted SD cards.:(
I'm reluctant to recommend anything I haven't tried, but if you Google "corrupt sd card" there are loads of recovery programs to choose from.
This one looks simple to use and is free for photo recovery. More instructions here. As always, virus scan with malware bites before installing. Use at your own risk.
Any other recommendations folks?
