Really impressed with City Link

I've just used City Link for the first time, and I have to say I'm impressed. I sent a large heavy item, the price was fair, the collection prompt, and the delivery made early the next day. I also like their tracking page, I find that the information is detailed and helpful. I'd like to use City Link again, so I'm wondering if this kind of service is the norm. Any regular City Link customers with stories/opinions to share? I almost used Hermes for this delivery, but I'm really glad I spent an extra quid or two with City Link.

p.s., Just want to clarify that I'm not affiliated with City Link in any way. I know this is a glowing review, but I really found no fault with their service. I'd also like to mention that I booked the delivery through Interparcel.com, so I'd probably use them again too.

I find that 99% of the time City Link deliver Next Day, however l find that sending to London addresses can be hit and miss in relation to Next Day deliveries.

We use them, and whilst the booking system and tracking system is good (their email communication is also fantastic) at the moment I'd actually strongly advise against setting up any kind of daily collection with them, which is what we have. They're constantly late, or they just don't show at all (usually around twice a week) and a few days ago they sent out a contracted driver who picked up a Parcelforce item by mistake :mad: customer should have received the item by Friday, they won't receive the replacement until Monday and I can see us being penalised by the customer when it was really City-Links fault.

One of their apparently new drivers somehow managed to hold up 11 parcels for 48 hours on another occasion.

When they're good they're good, when they're bad they're a bloody liability.

I won't use them, and I won't buy off anyone that says they will send anything with them.
Redelivery is a nightmare, and my local office is about 30 miles away, and opens during office hours.
I rarely actually get parcels from citylink, they usually end up being returned to the supplier, or just lost.

Same here. My local depot is miles away (it would cost me about £20+ to get there on public transport) and I find they are useless when it comes to redelivery.

All my friends work full time, my mum's retired but lives 200 miles away and I am not allowed to have stuff sent to work.

My amazon prime stuff is nearly always delivered by them and I've never had a problem!

Becuase I run a business, I'm not looked after by a baby sitting service.
You may have someone holding your hand at work, I need to use a reliable delivery company.
UPS and DHL work, even RM, so I use suppliers that use them.

If you use them as they cheap, that's your choice, I need quality though, and don't rely on others to have to bail me out.

I run a business. I don't have a problem with them. Perhaps you should look at who you're booking them through as its obviously an issue with the third party. You are aware that third party who get excess capacity at a lower price also get lower priority so if they don't have capacity, you're the first to get dropped?

I don't use them.
I don't use suppliers who use them.
I certainly believe they offer a second class service on the cheap though.
