Which 'lag' are you referring to anyways? Pixel response time or input lag?

Could they be referring to leg lag?
Making love with cold legs can cause knee trembling.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

May be that is why I have had three knee replacements?
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

Pixel lag in response to electrical feed. 2m Sec good, 5 mS average.

Picture response time improved with multiple scans. 50 Hertz = one scan every cycle of mains, 600 Hertz + 12 cycles of scan per cycle of mains.
50 Htz = blurring picture of fast movement. 600 Htz you would have trouble spotting picture blur.

    Difference on LCd and Plasma

Lcd, Liquid Crystal Display, are television sets that use LCD technology to produce images. LCD televisions are thinner and lighter than CRTs (Computer monitors ect,)

plazma- called that because there displays because the technology utilizes small cells containing gases in the tele,

Own plasma me self used to have problems in the past but plasma is good the best way to determine is examine the picture! Turn on the television and off see if you have any glare or resulation of the old picture, When a plasma has been on for some time and you suddently turn it off from the raido station ect it sometimes you can see the graphics of the station on the screen and take a some time while the television cools down,

BTW all Plasma televisions now come with freeview built, Dont worry about it being HD ready or Full HD-There the same still need a HDMI cable to get full 1080 signal on the television anyway

    Hope that helps

To be correct. Two replacements and one full revision.

Also HD ready dont have a HD free-view tuner built in, you need to buy a separate HD freeview box, to watch HD tv on freeview.

most large screens now come intergrated with tuners SONY,SAmsung,Phillips,Panasonic,Bush ect all build with freeview built in only 20"inch or old HD ready ones do not have freeview in

  • Ignore the outdated views on Plasma above, modern Plasmas are a lot better than the older versions..

I have a plasma, one of the LG razor frame ones... its almost as slim as a LED and the frame is very slim.

Downside of plasma is they use more power if that might be a concern but IMHO the picture is better than LCD - deeper blacks....

IMHO then if you want the best picture then get a plasma, but if you are concerned with power consumption then get an LED.... (I think its "matrix lit" rather than side lit.....)

Every set is different though, so view them in a shop and read reviews too (AV Forums is good).... my LG looked rubbish in the showroom because Currys don't set them up properly usually.. however reviews gave the best settings and now it looks great.

Oh and 720p or 1080p.... get 1080 if you can but unless you are sitting 2 feet away then you'll probably not notice any difference.

We have one of the new 43 inch Samsung plasmas. We went with plasma because we watched the titles going up the screen on a LCD at 100 Hz and the were all juddery. Plasma is smooth as anything, no movement blur whatsoever. I believe this one is 600Hz sub-frame rate too.

Ours is 720p, really good picture in HD, and it is one of the newer panels. Input lag is negligible, good enough to play wii games on. It is also quite thin as plasmas go.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

The last time I viewed one, it suffered from ghosting. Obviously things have moved along since then.
When the OP wrote of HD Ready, it put me in mind of old technology.
