So PE are the good guys and its everyone else thats wrong. If they just had a way of paying on exit then all would be solved. Free up to 2 hrs and then a fee for the rest, no one would object to this except PE.
Pity there's no "comments" section for the page.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
  • MP's have to be unbias in situations like these, they cannot charge into the PE HQ and say take the cams down because no can enforce the fines so why bother, dont forget the tax man gets a cut of your fine too! and PE is a buisiness. even if he despises the company he cannot go in a demand they leave the premises they operate on, and cant do anything about how they obtain our details and hound us to pay the fine thats up to house of lords to determin whether or not they should be regulated and have a structural system in place.

he needed to seem he was acting on behalf of his contituants and he made face for them (a vote winner).

as it stands PE have no powers to enforce the fines, and obviously certain buisinesses around that car park was suffering buisiness loss due to they way they operated, personally if that were the case and i owned a buisiness i would take the company they operate on behalf of to court for the loss's due to their unhand methods not ask an MP to go speak with them.

PE must of had a right laugh when he left.

I agree he has no power to do anything individually, but it is incorrect of him to refer to these charges as "fines" by calling them such how many people will pay without question. Or after the sham appeal is rejected.

Where was he when Patrick Troy was in parliament saying basically these charges are unenforceable. All he has done is gone back to his constituents saying ParkingEye have said they will be fairer. Do any of us believe that.

I have emailed him asking why he described their charges as fines. Lets see if I get a reply.

Tis done however I don't know if I will get an answer?

    From his auto response!

Parliamentary protocol also dictates that a Member of Parliament can only deal with issues on behalf of their own constituents. I would therefore be grateful if you could ensure you include your name and full postal address, within the Rutherglen & Hamilton West constituency. If this was not included in your email, I would be grateful if you could re-send your email with this additional information included.

"Many people have said to me that they do not object to their being a fee for parking for longer than two hours"

    Moron can't even spell.
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

Most people will have noticed that the quote was not from a posting on this site, but from the MP's website. I think an MP really ought to ensure that his public facing site uses correct spelling and grammar.

I wonder how much Parking Spy paid that MP to come out with those comments *ponders*

But off course, all MPs are clean and above board, they would never take brides or claim dodgy expenses :o
