At a guess the OR has added up mortgage/rent and bills and decided that £1k is all that's needed in the account at any one time for reasonable living expenses... albeit that doesn't allow for wages going in once a month and pushing the balance over for a day or two until DDs go out...
When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN :D

Could it have anything to do with the £1k cut off for value of assets? ie anything over this could be classed as an asset and therefore be taken as such by the trustee? I'm just guessing here as I've never heard of that before, and my salary bumps me slightly over this until I lift my rent money out each payday.

I don't see it doing any harm to wait til your new account is fully set up before ringing them. After all, if we could afford to lose a month's wages / benefits, would any of us gone BR in the first place?!
