I don`t know whether it is different in Scotland but the time varies for this to happen in England

    Who knows?

The receiver (AIB) has around 8wks once bankrupt to inform your creditors BUT bear in mind if its an account you listed on your BR papers it belongs to the OR now frozen or not till you hear otherwise so if your needing monies from that account you'll need to speak to the reciever first then they can release the cash you needed

some accounts can be closed/frozen in a few days/weeks mine with barclays took over 6mnths

    Hi gillypkk
I went through LILA 9 months ago and my account hasn't been frozen.
The OR said as there was no debt there that they weren't interested in the account and nothing ever happened after that.

Mine hasn't been frozen at all. I told the OR it was a basic account set up for the BR, she said that it's between me and the bank and not her?

    Been three weeks now

Mine hasn't been frozen either. I even spoke to someone in my branch to find out what would happen, he told me in no uncertain terms that my account would be frozen within 24 hours of them being told by AIB that I was BR.
It was listed as an asset, there's no overdraft on it, but I do have internet banking and a cheque book along with full debit card 10 months later it's still running exactly as it was when i opened it

When I opened the account it was Alliance and Leicester, but it's now Santander. I opened the account in June 2010, and went LILA BR in August 2010.

Same with me. Around the same time period too.

I am with the Co-operative Bank and have TWO cashminder accounts, which are the most basic accts they offer.
