Sorry but that's rubbish.
You get 5% discount on EVERY bottle purchased once you've bought AT LEAST SIX whether you've got 7, 8, 9, 13, 23 or 101.
Er... actually my OH is head of personnel and has progressed the ranks from shop floor and it appears you were lucky in the store deducting that amount.
God i hate people who rubbish other people's comments and are rude when doing so, when they have nothing to base their advice on but one piece of good fortune.
How about saying "i disagree" or i don't think that's correct" or "my opinion on this is"....... you know? Respect othe people's opinions?

And you obviously do not read posts correctly !
"Trust me I bought 8 bottles for £18 earlier in the week and have taken advantage of these multiple offers (eg 4 for £10) and the extra 5% on ALL OF THEM for the past 5 or 6 years."
This was NOT "one piece of good fortune"
It was not a one off event.
I have done this approximately FIFTY TIMES !
And guess what - it is not just one store that has this "lucky occurance" for me EVERY time I choose to to buy more than 6 bottles but not a whole multiple of 6.
I've done it in at least 6 different local Somerfield stores that I regularly visit.
And your OH doesn't know their own store policy ......
"Plus 5% off when you buy 6 or more bottles of wine*"
* Offer excludes fortified wine.

As the OP of this thread I'd hate to see it degenerate into a fight.
Lay off the wine chaps - if it makes you this angry0 -
Popped into Somerfield on Saturday for a couple of Tchibo items for Xmas presents.
Decided I'd have a bit more 4 for £10 wine
Picked up 8 bottles.
Got charged £18 yet again !
Incidentally keep a look out for a few 75% off clearance lines.
Princes tinned strawberries 420g - 14p (YUCK but my dad likes them)
Princes Yellowfin Tuna Steak - 27p ( 2 x 80g tins in a cardboard outer)
Somerfield Twin blade diposable women's Razor TEN pack - 37p
Somerfield Greasproof Paper 20m - 31p
and ....
Gourmet Pringles (mine had Steak & Onion / Salt & Pepper) - 18p
well actually they were 36p but currently they are BOGOF so buy in 2s and get 2 for 36p
AND (not a clearance item) If you like BRANSTON BAKED BEANS !!!!
A 4 pack is currently half price at 93p (SB £1.87) but there are SIX packs (a 4 pack PLUS 2 EXTRA FREE TINS) to be found
So that makes them only 15.5p per tin !!!There are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93

Thats all very well if you have a somerfield near you as three of them near me have been sold out to marks and spencer food stores,
still it is a very good offer though:beer:0 -
One has to keep in mind that the excise duty on a bottle of wine is approxy £1.50 - then on top of this, you need to add the cost of the wine - and then VAT on the whole lot. So, the cost of the wine is really less than a pound - makes you wonder how they do it - or is it a loss leader?0
