Tesco Value Loo Roll?

Loads of great replies thanks! I didn't realise the 4 packs are double the size of the old ones so that's really handy to know. I think I'm going to try the Home Bargains stuff since I wind up getting a few other items from there now anyway. I have to agree it's hard not to get carried away in there though! I think Tesco can say goodbye to my custom for a bit to be honest. Like others have said, it's not the price increases that are the problem - it's the sneaky ways they seem to be going about making them. When you go in planning to buy a few of your usual items only to find they've moved half way across the store, been repackaged in an inconvenient pack size and now cost three times what they used to it's just plain annoying!0

Have not been able to get 12 pack Tesco value loo roll for months now, and I shop online and get delivery from Copdock, Ipswich. It has become quite an obsession in our house, hunting down good value packs of loo roll! My daughter bought two value packs home from ASDA and I got quite excited when I saw them!! (Sad I know). Unfortunately she suffers from a form of IBD so a good supply is essential.Growing old disgracefully!0

Same problem here with the loo roll and the oven foil. I've finally given up, and have to get the value loo roll either from Asda or Co-op at 45p, and the foil from Wilkinsons, it was either 42p or 45p.0

The 12 pack hasn't been in stock at my local tesco for a few months. I have noticed some other Tesco Value lines are also out of stock for weeks, only to come back into stock at double the price, eg, Tesco value baby wipes were 18p now 36p. (use them for wiping down toilet, no baby!) Tesco value dried spaghetti was 20p now 40p.
springforce toliet tissue 9 rolls for £1.99 in tesco is good value, and is just slightly thicker than the value range.
I always buy the springforce toilet tissue, but was astounded when i went to tesco last week and its now gone up to £2.40:eek:0 -
I've been getting cosy soft toilet paper from Poundstretcher - a pack of 18 rolls for £2.99 or two packs (i.e. 36 toilet rolls) for £5. I don't know how they compare length-wise but the pack says: "roll length 20.7m per role approximately, sheet size 104mm x 115mm approximately. I don't know how it compares as I used to get the Tesco luxury toilet roll before it got too expensive (hardly ever shop in Tesco now due to their prices!).0

The new 4 pack has double the number of sheets per roll and it's £1.20 not £1.30, so think of it as getting 8 of the old-style rolls for £1.20 (still a small price increase per sheet nevertheless).
Interesting because it used to be 8.5p per 100 sheets according to the text below the main price.
when I bought some last night it was now 17.6p almost double the price.
The springforce ones are 12.4p per 100 sheets so I went for them0 -
Have switched to Lidl - 10 250 sheet rolls for about £1.30.What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

Morrisons have stopped the value 12pk and put a 4pk in its place hope its only a blip.0

I left the UK a few years back and now live in Asia, they have a strong water spray here! No need to use loo roll and can save a few quid on it!0
