I prefer the big value pack at home bargains..think its 18 rolls for £2.99? it works out cheaper than than the tescos value one as got a lot more paper on the roll.***MSE...My.Special.Escape***0

I think this is happening alot now.
Companies re-packaging things, but making them smaller, or less quantity in the pack probably in the hope consumers don't notice.
But we do!... why don't they just keep them the same and put the price up a bit (like we were expecting to happen anyway) so annoying!I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
I just get mine from Asda or Lidl now - I refuse to be held to ransom over loo roll!! Even the 4 x 200 sheet is only 50p there. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

All the value stuff seems to be vanishing or shooting up in price
I know, the budget own label 1kg bags of muesli went up from 46p to 94p last week, a rise of more than 100%. And all the major supermarkets did it at the same time - as I've said many times before, there's a blatant price fixing cartel between the "big 4" on certain product lines.0 -
My eldest Dd insists that only the Velvet quilted Andrex will do for her family (more money than sense) I buy Sainbobs value as in the end its doing what it has to and get flushed away I do think a lot of 'price fixing' is starting to happen now though as the big 4 seem to think that their customers are a bit simple and don't realise whats going on I know they are in buisness to make money but I live on a fixed income so have to make my pennies work that bit harder. One of the ladies on the till at my local supermarket said that they were told that 'if things didn't pick up more then there would be redundancies and folk would just have to queue for longer' this was said by management as folk have been a bit less free with spending thei money than they had been before But if you haven't got it then you can't spend it and folk will vote with their feet and find a cheaper alternative Serves the big 4 for being so blooming greedy, people power has put the wind up the supermarkets now0

Value foil back in my Tesco but now is 80p, I'm sure it used to be 45p! Also Value Cheddar slices have increased massively in price at my store.0 -
As has been said, it looks as though it's been replaced by 4 x 400 sheet rolls for £1.20. Similarly, Sainsburys seem to have changed to 6 x 400 sheet rolls for £1.75. The 'value' toilet rolls (12 x 200 sheet for £1.46) in our Aldi also disappeared last week.Stompa0

they must have gone up since i started buying them:o-mind you home bargains is a bit of devil to shop in- you go in for loo roll and then spend £20 on assorted "bargains" you didnt really want till you saw how cheap they are:eek:
i once had an argument with the bank about my bank charges and she asked what i was buying in home bargains, i told her snottily that i bought loo roll and cleaning products- i omitted the other bargain stashs i usually buy:rotfl::eek:***MSE...My.Special.Escape***0
