Tesco Value Loo Roll?

Does anyone know what's happened to Tesco Value loo roll? Was about £1.40 for a pack of 12 (small) rolls. It disappeared from my local store just over a week ago, and they only have packs of 4 (small) value rolls for about £1.30 now. I went to Morrisons and they still had it (called Morrisons Value or whatever but it's the same product).

I also noticed that in moving shelves around in my local store, there was lots of empty spaces where cheaper items normally live (like the value range and the Tesco budget brand stuff etc).

Is this long term do people think? Are Tesco ditching the bargains? Most importantly - will my loo roll come back!! I use Tesco Value deliberately because it's so thin - it doesn't block the loo if the kids go mad with it and if they drop a whole roll down the loo or something it's only a waste of a matter of pence! I would have asked at customer service but let's be honest, it's not something you want to chat about in a crowded place face-to-face lol x

The 12 pack hasn't been in stock at my local tesco for a few months. I have noticed some other Tesco Value lines are also out of stock for weeks, only to come back into stock at double the price, eg, Tesco value baby wipes were 18p now 36p. (use them for wiping down toilet, no baby!) Tesco value dried spaghetti was 20p now 40p.

springforce toliet tissue 9 rolls for £1.99 in tesco is good value, and is just slightly thicker than the value range.

The new 4 pack has double the number of sheets per roll and it's £1.20 not £1.30, so think of it as getting 8 of the old-style rolls for £1.20 (still a small price increase per sheet nevertheless).

I prefer the new rolls. I managed to get about a years supply when they were on the tesco double the difference! They are smaller so much better to store :D

Blimey. You can tell I buy in bulk. I haven't even noticed their absence as I have been using up current stocks of them for a few weeks.
Hey, it may be bog standard ;) but it does the job!

Nooooooo! Not the foil! That was another staple of mine. Blimey, all the reasons to shop there are fast disappearing. I only do 'proper' shopping there for such as the items you have stated!

As has been said, it looks as though it's been replaced by 4 x 400 sheet rolls for £1.20. Similarly, Sainsburys seem to have changed to 6 x 400 sheet rolls for £1.75. The 'value' toilet rolls (12 x 200 sheet for £1.46) in our Aldi also disappeared last week.

yes . i wonder if they are changing the size of the packs to try to fool us .

All the value stuff seems to be vanishing or shooting up in price, I know alot of them are loss leaders but its sure as hell putting me off buying in there now when Lidls is once again cheaper. Oh well

Have you ever considered that the maunfacturers may not be able to continue supplying at the low prices demanded by Tesco - particularly as commodities and transport increase in price
